In a peaceful neighborhood, apparently quite an upscale neighborhood, 17 APCs full of Brown Shirts from the government were sent to arrest a single person for the treasonous act of excessing their First Amendment right.

1938 Germany anyone?

Was ICE actually involved? Shouldn't be in their jurisdiction. They shouldn't be expanding their domain into domestic law enforcement.

ICE raided the house over posters. They are Nazis, Nazis you support.

Was it ICE who actually conducted the raid? I seem to have seen conflicting accounts, at least one said it was "Department of Homeland Security and the Secret Service" who actually carried out the (ludicrously over-the-top, from the sound of it) raid.

DHS umbrella covers both ICE and USSS.

That's incorrect. They raided the house because the posters had Ice agents address on them. If you have to leave pivotal information out of your narrative to make a point, perhaps your point doesn't exist at all.

So to be clear you believe it is a crime for citizens to publish the addresses of public officials? Sure is funny how all those conservative free speech warriors who thought it was somehow illegal for Facebook to delete their posts have no problem with the government raiding a house for speaking in ways they don’t like.

Meanwhile I haven’t seen any calls for you to have DOJ officials raided for publishing Garcia’s wife’s address. Any reason?

Regardless, I suspect even you by this point have realized you made a mistake in supporting Trump. I hope it’s not too late for us all but it’s definitely not too late for you to switch sides.

Does even that require a raid on such a scale, though? Why not just two uniformed cops making inquiries? The excessive show-of-force seems like a performative thing, intended to intimidate.

Did they have any reason to believe they were dealing with some sort of heavily-armed gang?

They raided a house over posters. The posters were not threatening in any way. Your support of federal thugs attempting to suppress free speech is noted.

To be clear publishing the addresses of public officials is very clearly first amendment protected speech.

The idea that Greenman thinks law enforcement should be able to raid your house for saying their addresses is insane. This is another one of those ‘imagine if Biden…’ things.

#1- If the information is publicly available how is this illegal?

#2- Are these departments that over staffed that they have available over a dozen MRAP's to serve what is basically a search warrant? Sounds like DOGE should be looking into these departments for either staffing cuts or re-assignment of resources.

Even if it were a crime that he allegedly did. This armed military convoy to arrest one young man who they though lived with his parent is abuse of power.

This is both a threat to anyone considering any form of resistance, even legal resistance to the new authoritarian regime, and normalization of the US police state.

to be fair it was only 1 APC, the rest were normal police vehicles etc. still totally ridiculous, but just being honest.

It is Irvine, they could have sent 2 SUV's to execute the warrant and a couple of IPD squad cars to provide control of the perimeter.
