It takes 2/3 of the Senate to convict, an impossibly high bar with the current GQP. It's a bit difficult to imagine what kind of depravity it would take from Trump to pass that bar.Unfortunately, he will still be around. I don't think there will be enough of a Dem majority in the congress to have another do over on impeachment. Everything must be resisted as much as possible in the meantime.
The question is if the country will make it til the end of his term.
Keep in mind a simple majority won’t cut itIf the Democrats take the House and Senate impeaching Trump is a given, although it's a bit of a stretch if that ever happens. Still, it feels like he'll serve his term out and then hopefully serve another term, this time behind bars.
If the republicans in the house ever get their balls back from the bottom drawer of Trumps desk, and it actually got to the Senate, the pressure from the public on their Senators would be like nothing they could ever imagine. The phone lines, email lines, and protests in DC should send a clear message, find him guilty, or spend the rest of your term and life hiding in fear.It takes 2/3 of the Senate to convict, an impossibly high bar with the current GQP. His father Fred lived to age 95 IIRC, albeit he was a vegetable near the end. Suffice to say wealthy Americans with premium health care live a very long time. There's little to suspect Donny's clock will run out naturally within 4 years.
I posted the chart for women in another thread. This is conservative policies at work.Read an interesting article this morning.

Nah, they're just doing the New Hampshire thing, Live Free And Die!, oh wait It's Live Free Or Die. I used to say that when I did my yearly New England tour when I lived in Connecticut, and thought that their license plate was advertising the way that they drove in that state.I posted the chart for women in another thread. You are on average poorer, sicker, less well off, and die earlier if you live in a conservative state. Now I would assume if you are well off you can mitigate a lot of that but for you’re an average person enjoy dying early.
He is still pretty popular, at least by today's standards (mid 40s approval rating these days is stellar). And polls have always underestimated his support to begin with.
He will run for, and easily win another term. If he so chooses. This is simply what the country wants. And why I stopped caring.
