I'm about half way into my 3rd and last week of vacation and hardly did everything I wanted to do. A combination of getting sick, and laziness. I think the cold drained my energy so just don't feel like doing anything. Wanted to start back today but got up late and just vegged and now it's too late to bother starting. I will continue tomorrow, I swear! Today would have been a much better day though... the next step involves outside work, and it was actually nice out today. Back to freezing and snow tomorrow.

Anything below about 12C is the devil, and below 20C is only acceptable at night.

Bought an Anker USB C cable that claims 60watt charging, hooked it up to my computer's TB4 port to charge my iPad. About 20 minutes have passed and it's still showing the exact same % as when I plugged in it. I thought Anker was supposed to make good cables, fUx0rs!

And I ordered a uhh fat ass munchie whatever meal from JiTB which is supposed to come with 3 dips. They forgot all 3.

Maybe high wattage charging needs to be enabled for that port or just try a USB 3.2 port. Does the iPad show the zap icon when you plug it in with that cable?

TV USB ports may not always be power rated, and if they are it might be a low amperage. Same with computers, not all ports tend to provide the same amount of power. In fact, 60w would be 12 amps at 5v. I'd be surprised anything other than a big brick charger would supply that much. The small cubes you plug in are usually like 2 amps.

Hummmm there might be something in the BIOS, that would be a stupid thing to have to enable but I should probably check it, yes it shows it's charging and it did eventually charge. I can't use a 3.2 port because both of the USB C ports on this MB are TB4. But those should always be picked over a normal USB C when it comes to charging.

Yeah a USB 3 port only supplies up to 900mA of current.

TB4's specs are up to 100watts of charging, I should be able to charge a full laptop at high speed.

Pricing out electrical wire for my garage sub panel and server room sub panel and these prices are making me shudder. Wish I had done this years ago before the prices of everything went crazy.

$21/m for 6/3 teck which will come up to around a grand for the amount I need. Measured out 45m total with room to spare. This would be good for 60 amps

$14/m for 8/3 teck which comes up to around $700. This would be good for 40 amps.

I can probably get away with 40 amps but 60 amps would be more future proof especially if I later on add an EV. It would be parked outside as the garage is going to be a workshop, so need to account for the battery heater. If I'm going to pay $700... I may as well just pay $300 more and go with the bigger wire I guess...

I think 100W is only charging the laptop itself, charging an ipad off the laptop is probably on the 15W limit for accessories. Still seems like it should be charging faster either way.

I ordered some hepa air filters from amazon on monday. They were supposed to be here today but the package was delayed with this excuse.

A railroad mechanical failure has delayed delivery. We're working to deliver your package as soon as possible. / Delivery will be delayed by one business day.

Are we living in the 1800's?

In 45 minutes it got 3% more charge, which would be bad even if it was hooked to a shitty 1a USB 2 port. 15 watt is close to the shitty 20 watt brick Apple gives with the iPad Pros, so if there's not a BIOS setting it looks like I'm assed out until I buy a charging brick.

Good to know about the 15 watt max for accessories though, I did not know that, thanks for educating me. If I can get it to work at 15 watts that would be plenty for me.

Or I could just trickle charge my iPad, it might take 2 days to charge, but that should do wonders for the battery life lol.

I've got an Anker 100 watt brick and one of their high speed cables. I'm not sure I've ever timed it, but it charges my iPad Pro probably in under an hour.

That's odd, guess the furnace motherboard is sending a surge to it when it comes back online or something.
It's a known, terrible design flaw. The options are to get a whole new board system for $2k, get a replacement on ebay for $500, or replace the entire AC unit for untold thousands.

Picked up 15 gallons of bird seed shells. Do you think the little SOBs said thanks? Nope, just came over, ate the new seed and shit on plants.

Although I did enjoy watching 3 new birds eating out of the feeder yesterday.
