I definitely think the fact that he was not only unsuccessful but that people actively turned against him was emotionally traumatic for him.While I'm skeptical that he's really done the election in Wisconsin where he got trounced after dumping millions in and doing his usual antics was surely personally painful. He's probably worried about repeats in VA later this year and then the midterms delivering similarly unpleasant experiences.
