Question MS Surface Pro 3 Slow WiFi Connection

My 5 GHz Wi-Fi access point reliably provides up to ~480 Mb/s on all other devices. However, my MS Surface Pro 3 only achieves a maximum download speed of 280 Mb/s (Usually ~220 Mb/s). Disabling the Surface Pro 3 internal Wi-Fi adapter and using an external USB Wi-Fi adapter gets the same results. Also, the Surface Pro 3 achieves the expected up to ~480Mb/s if Ethernet hard wired. I would appreciate some advice for troubleshooting as I cannot find a problem and have even followed advice to reset/release/renew/flushdns netsh & various ipconfig parameters. The Surface Pro 3 is specified at 433 Mb/s on 5 GHz . Also, the Wi-Fi signal is very strong, and other devices achieve these speeds in the same location.

If your WIFI chips in your surface are Marvel it probably would not do better.

The Marvel chipset on te surface is not doing well.

Eventually MS stop to use them and switched to use Intel.

Thanks. I think you are exactly correct. I found a lot supporting your thoughts including a thread in the Microsoft Community Forum with a reference and instructions for downloading and installing updated Marvell drivers that Windows update apparently ignores. I installed them with no improvement. The Comcast 400 Mb/s service has proven to consistently provide in the high 400s at this location, but this Surface Pro 3 laptop tops out at mid 200 Mb/s.

Interestingly, I tried using a ten-year-old TP-Link AC600 T2UH USB Wi-Fi adapter and could not achieve anything faster.
