Horizon Forbidden West 3060 is faster than the 2080 Super despite the former usually competing with the 2070. Also 3060 has a better 1% low than 4060 and 4060Ti 8GB.

Resident Evil Village 3060TI/3070 tanks at 4K and is slower than the 3060/6700XT when ray tracing:

Reasons why still shipping 8GB since 2014 isn't NV's fault.

It's the player's fault.
It's the reviewer's fault.
It's the developer's fault.
It's AMD's fault.
It's the game's fault.
It's the driver's fault.
It's a system configuration issue.
Wrong settings were tested.
Wrong area was tested.
Wrong games were tested.
4K is irrelevant.
Texture quality is irrelevant as long as it matches a console's.
Detail levels are irrelevant as long as they match a console's.
There's no reason a game should use more than 8GB, because a random forum user said so.
It's completely acceptable for the more expensive 3070/3070TI/3080 to turn down settings while the cheaper 3060/6700XT has no issue.
It's an anomaly.
It's a console port.
It's a conspiracy against NV.
8GB cards aren't meant for 4K / 1440p / 1080p / 720p gaming.
It's completely acceptable to disable ray tracing on NV while AMD has no issue.
Polls, hardware market share, and game title count are evidence 8GB is enough, but are totally ignored when they don't suit the ray tracing agenda.

According to some people here, 8GB is neeeevaaaaah NV's fault and objective evidence "doesn't count" because of reasons(tm). If you have others please let me know and I'll add them to the list. Cheers!

Marvel Rivals is a hilarious choice. I can get a stable 60fps at 1080p in combat on a 2060Super with a 4790k cpu. I think DLSS is on in some form with medium settings, definately no RT or MFG. That game also by default caches shaders every time you start the game (they have a new experimental mode that bypasses that).

So even at a lower level Nvidia's choice comparison, you're comparing a $300 5060 8GB vs a 5+ year old 2060Super 8GB that I paid $400 out the door for. It dang well better be faster.

I was commenting on Steve's 1440P ultra data from the Techspot article in my edit. This should be an apples to apples for settings. Clearly all 3 reviewers are using different areas in the game to test with.

W1z does the quick and dirty vs Steve putting in much more effort with what I think is a superior testing methodology. In the case of their initial reviews, w1z used the newer beta driver from Nvidia, Steve was using the first one. w1z said it gave about a 5% boost to Nvidia over the first driver.

But yeah, bigger bar better is no longer relevant the way it once was. Any of us can upload videos, so there is no excuse for reviewers to not back up their testing with video evidence. If it is a 25 second test run clip, you failed the task successfully. Pedro AKA ZwormZ does a great job. Daniel-San has a good methodology too. I like that he states longer sessions may expose vram limitations his testing did not show. I would like even more emphasis on that point, to beat it into gamers heads that these short test and canned benchmarks are not always reflective of the real gaming experience.

Note they manually changed the texture pool size to its lowest setting in dark ages. How many goofy goobers with a pre-built using the 8GB variant are going to know that? The default is 2GB where it 💩 the bed.

Calling any game that premieres on game pass a sales flop, is highly likely to be inaccurate. I read a projection stating there would be 50 million subscribers by the end of the year. There were over 35 million for the last estimate I saw. Perhaps ironically, the mod to make the 1660 series work requires the game pass version, it doesn't work with the Steam version according to Edward, the content creator of those videos.

How are peoples expectations too high? Is it really unreasonable to expect that 2 different variants of the same GPU, with a 15% price difference, shouldn't have extreme performance differences like this?
