I don’t agree - I feel it’s something carried over.

I think if we made a new military today the Officer and enlisted distinction would not exist
I mean, I'm speaking from experience. That's the reason it's required.

The distinction between officer and enlisted is also a distinction with a purpose. They do different jobs, serve different roles. Arguments could be made for loosing some restrictions (looking at you, Navy), but they need to both exist.

Unfortunately it seems like the agents were there to go after his non-citizen brother and he got in the way. He's actually lucky they didn't change him with obstruction or harboring an illegal alien or whatever it is these days.
Can you show us where in the article is says anthing about him getting in the way of them arresting his brother? If that was the case, why would they say his Real ID is fake? Seems you are adding context that doesn't exist. Yes, his brother was in the country illegally, but that doens't translate to him getting in the way..

Short answer: Stop making shit up!

Dude it's right in the article.

The Department of Homeland Security said in a statement to NBC News that Garcia interfered with an arrest during a targeted worksite operation.

“He physically got in between agents and the subject they were attempting to arrest and refused to comply with numerous verbal commands,” said Tricia McLaughlin, DHS assistant secretary

Because police/ICE and this administration never lie about what really happened.

Sorry, I missed that. However, is it really trustworthy and accurate? You do realize that piece of information is coming from the same people who said his Real ID was fake, which indicates they where looking for a reason to arrest and detain him. If that statement was accurate, why would they need to make false claims of having a fake ID, to give them a reason to arrest and detain him or rather make it appear the arrest was legitimate as other's where telling them he was a citizen and has ID?

Greenie did say he would be mad if it happened to him, but until it does it’s no big deal.

Shit you can’t make up.

yeah, he loves that the system works anyway, as it's supposed to. All cleared up in the end after "cooler heads prevailed"? no biggie! I guess greenman is unwilling to express how incandescent he would be once faced with the situation where his presumed racial benefit is suddenly not allowed him, as he believes he deserves such in every public encounter.

it's "the others" that should have to deal with these little "inconveniences" of being detained for days, searched, family detained, denied council, etc, as long as its "figured out in the end."

That's for them over there to "test our system," as it must be tested, after all.

Right... because state-owned media would surely run negative stories about the current administration...
No because a Trump call for state owned media would threaten the wealth of those rich fools who think they can increase their wealth by manipulatively flattering him in the delusional belief he won't throw them under the bus when their flattery isn't enough. Trump is a vacuum that can never be filled and the result will be cutting off everybody's head. Trump is like a black hole that sucks in attention. The more it sucks the greater it's need and capacity to feed become. It's the swirl of water in the toilet that causes it to flush and the sewer fulful its purpose.

There is a force in the world that can stop Trump and it's the fear the rich have of losing their money. The greater the awareness of his danger to them the sooner they will stop him.
I agree that Biden miscalculated and like Mitch McConnell thought Trump was finished.

This guy’s psychosis likely predates Trump though. Weird form of helplessness where he seems to enjoy whipping himself into a panicked frenzy.
I think if you could take me seriously you might see that to me it's totally predictable. As a criminal is drawn to return to the scene of the crime we unconsciously strive to mentally recreate situations that evoke the emotional state of our murder. Yes, I am saying the world if full of sleep walking Zombies, the emotionally dead. People in therapy that can dig deep into their feelings and actively relive the past can experience enlightened relief. gothuevos may be as nutty as a fruit cake but his feelings are less deeply buried than in you and me. With a real therapist that knew something and had experienced deep healing, I think he could make faster progress than you or I. His problem would be more on the line of keeping one foot in reality knowing that what is happening when the door to our inner truth opens that it is only the truth of what we feel and not at all the truth of actual reality. Madness is believing there is no difference.

The main reason is to maintain the US equivalent of an aristocracy leading the troops. I don’t think it applies much these days but that was the goal.
I would have thought that the reason was that what we call education is a brainwashing program that creates sufficient ego identification with nation or origin sufficient to lead men to die in battle for that 'greater good'. That is why ignorant fools ask stupid questions like, "What if they gave a war and nobody came?"

How would state-owned media do anything that you think it could do? If there was state-owned media, it would be Trump's personal Truth Newspaper.

There is a difference between calling for state own media and actual state owned media. It is the call for it that will upset those who own media now and will lose it if it becomes state owned.

Interesting development. Wikipedia, though, seems to say that the "judicial branch" already has its own law enforcement branch - though maybe those only protect the Supremes?

Federal judges are discussing a proposal that would shift the armed security personnel responsible for their safety away from the Department of Justice (DoJ) and under their own control, as fears mount that the Trump administration is failing to protect them from a rising tide of hostility.

Hah. I was more thinking of the strict separation between officers and enlisted, but yes the pretentiousness could go too (as if their slop could ever compare to an AF mess hall).

Well, the AF takes care of people stuff first, like put the golf course in first at the base, then ask for more money to finish what the base was built for.

The military's obsession with golf is impressive. I've started to wonder if they all have silos under them, only good reason to keep them around.

As we celebrate Memorial Day in the United States I want all of us to never forget what Trump said about Dead Veterans who died defending the US.

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/do...disparaged-us-service-members-vete-rcna118543

Today is the day we remember the brave soldiers who have fought and defended the world against fascist motherfuckers like Trump.

That Memorial day tweet from Trump was truly disgusting. Every statement is a guilty admission. America has a traitor for president.

The ghoul in the White House wished us (the collective scum) a "Happy Memorial Day", because the POS doesn't understand it's not a happy occasion. it's a Memorial. a reflective and solemn remembrance of the patriotic soldiers and sailors who gave it all to this currently floundering country. Memorial Day is not "happy" dumbass. His Memorial Day message does not contain ONE SINGLE WORD to reflect, remember and honor the brave men and woman who served in the military that sacrificed their lives for their country. He thinks it's a day to memorialize himself.

Know your enemy.

He received a loud applause for his speech.

"Their valor gave us the freest, greatest and most noble republic ever to exist on the face of the earth, a republic that I am fixing after a long and hard four years. That was a hard four years we went through,” Trump said during his 17-minute speech Monday as loud applause ensued."
