Mary Trump is sharp. In Trumps first term, she predicted he wont accept a loss in the upcoming election. And that he would claim that his oppnents rigged it. Exactly what happened.

To be fair, Trump was calling the 2016 election rigged in 2015, and he won that one.

Of course, that was the predictable part. But not conceding an election and going 'farther than you can possibly imagine' to hold onto power if he loses' was the part many did not expect.

Yes, and in this video (linked in OP) she's asked if he will run for another term. She's clearly thought about the scenarios. She said she wouldn't be surprised if they (his people) try to find a loophole in the amendment, such as not 3 consecutive. More than that she opined that he'd quite possibly simply refuse to leave.

I didn't expect it but in this forum I read posts by people who saw big trouble on the horizon, a call to insurrection developing. So, when it happened I wasn't surprised. The sins of Donald Trump, in particular the outrageous things he's said and done in the political sphere are legion and his getting elected in 2024 I did not expect. How could America reelected that guy? My faith in my fellow Americans took a torpedo in the midsection.

The thing is we can see the warning signs but not enough are willing to really do what is necessary besides just resistance.

There's only 2 ways out.. a non violent split or rivers of blood.

I'm completely willing to take the non violent way out. Question is will enough go along with it or the special interests/ billionaires have more to gain from a broken system than one that works better for them without the baggage?

I mean just think of the billionaires having everything they wanted in a red america state only.. no liberal resistance.. complete child labor.. no unions.. no taxes.. it's utopia. All they have to do is say we want the damn libs out.. break it up now!

That would be my expectation. Manufacture and emergency to stay in power. Possibly even a false flag operation that results in the death of some Americans.

That or he has Vance run, and becomes VP, but he's really calling the shots.

Will enough Americans rise up and say no, we don't want anything like a monarchy in the USA? I'm hearing what's going on framed like that but I don't know what Trump voters do or think. I don't watch Fox News, for one thing.

We are getting a first hand lessons on how repugnant historical figures rose to power.

You might have (as I did) looked at history before and wondered, "How did they let that happen?", but now you get to see in real time that most people just cave in to authoritarians, and go along with them.

We have seen most of the billionaire class bend the knee to Trump without even token resistance.

Most billionaires are repugnant people. I can think of a few exceptions and the only one I would mention is Warren Buffett. Um, I can't imagine that he attended the pesky buffoon's inauguration.
