Is anyone else having an issue in which their external SSD gets disconnected sometimes during the initial scanning during the SATA detection part of the scan in HWinfo64 and it loses power and only rebooting the system can the external SSD get power again once it's connected to the USB port? I'm using a 2TB Samsung 850 EVO in a Vantec NexStar 3.1 USB enclosure.

I tried a different external USB hard drive, same USB cable, and it did not experience the disconnect/power off from USB during the scanning in HWinfo64 on that drive. Later that day I updated to HWinfo64 version 8.26 and it seems to solve the issue of my external SSD dropping out and losing power during the initial scan that I experience in the outdated version of HWinfo64 I was using.

I had this issue happen again, this time on my primary system. Both systems have the same motherboard, MSI X670E Tomahawk, but a different CPU and power supply, primary system has a Ryzen 7 9800X3D and secondary system has a Ryzen 7 7800X3D. The motherboards were bought around 1 year apart, so I wouldn't suspect a bad batch of motherboards being the issue here, and therefore RMA'ing the motherboard to the manufacturer wouldn't solve this issue most likely. I tried another SSD drive that was connected to a SATA to USB adapter and an external WD Passport USB hard drive and did not experience the issue using those. Also when this happened my USB unifying receiver went along for the ride, making my wireless keyboard and mouse inaccessible, requiring be to power down and power back up the system using the power button on the case. This happens only in the Serial ATA/SCSI detection in HWInfo64 but not every time I run it. Also this happens only when I run HWInfo64 off SSD inside this particular external enclosure that I experience this issue with. Since it happened one of the front USB 3.0 ports in the front of both cases which comes from the chipset of the motherboard and the top red USB 3.2 USB-A port on the back panel of the motherboard which comes from the CPU, most likely it's not the chipset or the CPU that is the issue.
