With the GFX940 patches in full swing since first week of March, it is looking like MI300 is not far in the distant future!
Usually AMD takes around 3Qs to get the support in LLVM and amdgpu. Lately, since RDNA2 the window they push to add support for new devices is much reduced to prevent leaks.
But looking at the flurry of code in LLVM, it is a lot of commits. Maybe because US Govt is starting to prepare the SW environment for El Capitan (Maybe to avoid slow bring up situation like Frontier for example)

See here for the GFX940 specific commits
Or Phoronix

There is a lot more if you know whom to follow in LLVM review chains (before getting merged to github), but I am not going to link AMD employees.

I am starting to think MI300 will launch around the same time like Hopper probably only a couple of months later!
Although I believe Hopper had problems not having a host CPU capable of doing PCIe 5 in the very near future therefore it might have gotten pushed back a bit until SPR and Genoa arrives later in 2022.
If PVC slips again I believe MI300 could launch before it

This is nuts, MI100/200/300 cadence is impressive.

Is SeR and OMM AMD gonna add only to RDNA4?
SW emulation on RDNA4, HW support on RDNA5

MLID said he recommended waiting for the price to drop & then buying it close to msrp

This definitely not worth more than $380
I don't think we should read too much into the slides I posted. I've never even heard of eTeknix before today. I have no idea if this guy is even credible or reliable. I clicked on one of his videos and he gives me obvious wannabe HUB vibes. He's clearly modeling himself after HUB with the chart aesthetics, editing style, and set backdrop. It's a little weird and slightly creepy if I'm being honest. I'm taking this with a grain of salt for now. The leak seems like a stunt to grab attention for his channel.

I have a hard time buying any GPU for much above MSRP personally. Waiting out these GPU buying panics has always worked well for me in the past. For those not as stubborn or patient as me, I think you could (based on this limited data) make an argument for spending more than $380. The cheapest 5060 Ti 16 GB on pcpartpicker currently selling for $480 in the US. Either way we'll still need more review data to properly asses the value proposition.

So is it that up until now AMD was unable to use these features because DirectX didn't standardize them and add it into the API? AMD's RT performance was held back by MS delay? Or is it that AMD didn't yet develop the software emulation for these and is only now getting ready?

Yeah those eTeknix benchmarks are honestly about what you'd expect, especially on an RT heavy bench suite. I suspect the 9060XT will creep up a bit on the 5060Ti 16gb on large bench charts like TPU etc but not by much.

More or less a similar story to something like the 9070XT vs the 5070Ti.
Yeah, this is in line with what I expected. That suite does seem to be RT heavy. I wouldn't be that surprised if it pulled ahead of the 5060 Ti a little bit in pure raster.

Shameless shill, I ignore anything he does. I've seen him play stupid after pimping Nvidia and claiming he didn't know.
I see my apprehensions about this guy were warranted. I mean seriously, what's with the blatant HUB video style ripoff? If a guy is trying to gain credibility by making his presentation look exactly like another youtube reviewer, you have to question his integrity. I'm sure this "leak" was an accident and not an attempt to draw attention to his youtube channel.

The algorithm suggested his channel a few years back so I started going through some of his catalog. Lazy benchmarketer, and definitely takes editorial direction.

I agree with you that this was an intentional leak by a dirtbag, for dirtbag reasons.

Jeez, MLID is so desperate for attention now he's actually inflating his own rumor mill.

He went from talking about a 9080 a few days ago to calling it a 9090 yesterday.

Mind you it's still just an overclocked N48 with 32GB of RAM - that's it.

Edit: He's also talking about himself in the 3rd person when talking about the rumor.....

At this point I'm starting to wonder if he needs medical attention 😆

And when AMD doesn't 'release' this card then he'll accuse AMD of lying !!
