Cant help but contemplate if we'e been a drag on these great warriors.
If memory serves the only restrictions on strikes into Russia were with weapons the west provided and these weren't provided by the west. For dealing with true swarms of drones directed energy weapons are needed, specifically high wattage microwave emitters. THOR for instance. Cannon and SHORAD functions are always good to have for back up, but if you're talking real swarms (hundreds of drones at once) you need to be able to drop huge swathes of them immediately, not just clusters. Like a big broom, just sweep them out of the sky, that's what you want.

They are aware that they signed an agreement to respect Ukrainian sovereignty. I'm not aware that they are claiming otherwise. They have claimed that Russians in Ukraine were mistreated, etc. and that they have acted to right wrongs or that Ukraine has been taken over by Nazis. They want a puppet government in Ukraine that will do the Kremlin's bidding.

No that's us. Russia is a Federation basically run by mafia and ex spooks. I wouldn't expect any chance at a republic until after Putin is dealt with, and odds are against it. But I think even a banana republic would be an upgrade to what Russia is now.
