An infant born prematurely due to contracting measles in the womb has died. This must be horribly traumatic for the parents. The measles outbreak here is incredible and it was only a matter of time someone died from it. I am getting so sick and tired of antivaxers and their BS nonsense. Time for mandatory inoculation of children (except those with life threatening reasons) is here.

Ontario's Ministry of Health has announced the first recorded death of a measles patient from the current outbreak that started in October.

Dr. Kieran Moore, chief medical officer of health, issued a statement Thursday saying a southwestern Ontario infant has died after being born prematurely and infected with the highly contagious virus through the mother.

"The child contracted the virus before birth from the mother, who had not been immunized against measles, mumps and rubella," Moore said in an interview with CBC News.

"Measles was a significant contributing factor in the premature death of this child, but the child also had other serious medical complications unrelated to the virus."

Southwestern Public Health, which covers Oxford and Elgin counties, confirmed the child was from a community in their coverage area.

"Out of respect for the family's privacy, no further personal or medical details will be shared," Moore said.

It is sad.

1-3 per 1000 people who contact the measles, dies.
Another 12% who get the measles have to be hospitalized.

"What is the hospitalization rate for measles?
Complications are most common among children under age 5, adults over age 20, pregnant women, and people with an impaired immune system. Measles is fatal in up to three of every 1,000 cases. During the latest outbreaks, 133 cases — about one in eight — have required hospitalization."

The only thing measles are good for is to study the hell out of it. It seems the measles virus is capable to attack memory b cells and seems to erase the immunity memory of the immune system. This may lead to a way to cure acquired autoimmune diseases .
This was discovered several years ago in the dutch biblebelt where nobody was vaccinated against the measles virus AKA rubeola and after the measlers broke out, the young infants had no more immunity for diseases they already went through before attracting the measles.

See post#326 from the phage virus thread.

It's sad that it's actually making a come back, I thought we had mostly eradicated it at this point. I think the whole covid fiasco has made lot of people distrust ALL vaccines. I personally choose to stay up to date on the classic vaccines but TBH have not bothered with covid. I got the first 2 shots initially and that's it. I don't agree with forcing any vaccines but they do need to rebuild trust in the system again so that people are more willing to get them.

Yeah, it is very important that a serious person who is qualified for the job explains how vaccins work and how we really need to take them.

Our minister of the governmental health department(Ministery of VWS) at the time in the Netherlands, Hugo de Jonge compared vaccins with frikandels..
So more and more people in the Netherlands started to distrust the COVID vaccins and the government. However, from three vaccins available, the RNA vaccins are more safe.
This vaccine is the best and the safest : BioNtech/pfizer and Moderna.

The traditionally created Janssen vaccin, editing DNA of an adenovirus to contain SARS-COV2 ACE 2 antigens (spike protein) caused blood clots in the brain of some unfortunate people.

The Covid “fiasco” was nut job politicians lying about the vaccines. To rebuild trust we need to stop voting for lying politicians.

You are so self unaware. You don't even realize that YOU, and the people you support are the cause of all of this.
The anti Covid vaccine crowd are why more and more people are not getting their children ANY vaccinations, even though they all survived them themselves as children. Morons.

  • Just over 100,000 people die from the Measles each year globally -
  • Its pretty rare to die from measles with 1-2 deaths, out of every 1000.
  • The majority of deaths/infections are in the middle-east (Yemen, Pakistan, Afghanistan) and Africa (Ethiopia, Nigeria, Congo).

The Brady Bunch episode on the Measles (pulled from networks but on YouTube) shows the fear level of it in the early 70's.

Annually 500 kids in the US died from measles, before the vaccine.
In 60 years we have prevented 30K deaths of US kids.
I guess 500 dead US kids a year is ok in your book.
Not mine.

Measles is completely preventable.

Those 107,500 K who died the past year (worldwide) were from kids that weren't vaccinated.

Congrats. You are helping to sow mistrust and doubt in all vaccines.

There was nothing wrong with the COVID vaccines, and charlatans have simply latched on to spread doubt about their hated enemy, the vaccine.

There were some people who got ill effects from it, some also died, but try to even talk about that and suddenly you're a bad person. Any doctor who also said anything about it lost their license. There was lot of secrecy to try to bury the ill effects and anyone who brought it up was labeled a racist misogynist far right extremist. "Just take it and shut up" was basically the motto. That created a lot of mistrust in the system. The fact that the pharma companies have 100% immunity against lawsuits doesn't help.

I was 100% def vaccinated as a child but apparently due to my advanced age (61 ouch!) I received a weaker "inactive" version?

During my most recent physical/blood work my dr suggested I have my immunity level to measles checked. (I had mumps)

Turns out it was ZERO! 🫨

Got an MMR "booster" and now should be protected. Anyone around my age might want to do the same rather then risk finding out the hard way!

EDIT: Apparently anyone vaccinated between 1963 and mid-1967 received the "inactive" version.
