I have pointed that out. MIL is in her 70s as well and, normally, I'm all for her doing her solo jaunts across the world but I'm really hoping that nothing fucked up happens. I'll be very much making sure she gets her paperwork in order before going.I hope she knows that multiple people in the US on valid tourist visas have been arrested and subjected to some pretty heinous shit. They were eventually released, but part of me wonders if we would have heard about it if they weren't.
It's fucking insane how I'm way more worried about her going to the States rather than my SIL going to Cuba.Seriously, stay away from the US. Bad shit is going down here.
That until the South American people starts to causes heavy damages to the US people and even the embasies. It would be very but very dark to see. This is why I'm telling non-citizens to stay away. It is simply not safe to be in America as a foreigner right now. This is going to go down as one of the darkest moments in our history.
ICE raided a construction site in Tallahassee. They arrested 100 workers. Turns out a grand total of 6 were kept. So far ICE won't say why those 6 were kept.
There were sweeps throughout the Florida panhandle covering 5 counties. Total arrested and kept was 16 and 6 of those were the Tallahassee group.
Involved were U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, Homeland Security Investigations, Enforcement and Removal Operations, the FL Highway Patrol, Florida Department of Law Enforcement, the FBI, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the Drug Enforcement Administration, the US Marshal's Service, IRS Criminal Investigation Division, Escambia County Sheriff's Office and Santa Rosa County Sheriff's Office.
12 agencies mobilized to get 16 people. And no word as to why they're being kept and certainly no word on what it cost to bring all those agents in, transport the detainees to a facility, feed them, get them home after release and whatever other costs occurred.
So much for millions of criminal , illegal migrants.
There is a reason the agency is out of money.
They're paying mercs to wear masks and round up everyone they see that looks hispanic?

To me it highlights the real issue and republicans refusal to deal with it, businesses. If you want to stop illegal immigration (or realistically lower it) you have to go after the companies who keep hiring them.
So 94 people harassed for no legitimate reason. But I'm sure that's no big deal in the Greenman world view, since they were eventually let go. What's wrong with a little illegal detention anyway?ICE raided a construction site in Tallahassee. They arrested 100 workers. Turns out a grand total of 6 were kept. They are not going to arrest their own donors.
Just a reminder greenman said if it happened to him he would be really mad. But since it didn’t he doesn’t see the big deal and those impacted just need to get over it.So 94 people harassed for no legitimate reason. In FL, I think knowingly hiring unathorized aliens is a noncriminal violation with a fine of up to $500.To me it highlights the real issue and republicans refusal to deal with it, businesses. Here's how to deal with them...Witnessed this ICE raid using normal cars/SUVs some without license plate. As you can see, all of them are masked and in civilian clothes. That Dodge sedan in the middle ran a red light and nearly hit my car moments before this scene. 6 people total in that work van, all taken away to who knows where.
