TBH, I think it's the greatest American holiday. I used to love the 4th most as a kid cause fireworks, but I haven't seen/heard/smelled any in a long time and it's more a reactionary's idea of a great day anymore. Juneteeth celebrates the liberation of slaves, the ending of slavery and by corollary freedom in general. It's hard to overemphasize the greatness this represents. It's more American than celebrating the USA's independence from British rule and establishment of an independent nation, particularly in light of how the current party in charge of all chambers of government has turned its back on the principles on which the country was founded, and so thoroughly.View attachment 125966
