You all may remember a time recently when China was not allowing it's citizens to leave the country as it wanted more labor even though they had tickets and passports. Only Chinese government workers approved for overseas travel were allowed to leave.
Could Trump do something like that here eventually.. i.e. basically what happens in an abusive relationship. No possibility of escape.
And you know congress is already making it impossible to vote unless you have a passport. What if they intentionally slow it down to a crawl (like what happened during COVID) or just outright stop re-issuing passports when your passport expires?
You're basically going to be stuck in America with no chance of escape.
People used to laugh when I would tell them.. the most valuable thing you travel with overseas is your passport.. as people would pay big money to get it.. change the picture and it would offer them a means to escape. But I never thought it would be us needing a means of escape.
If you can get a new US passport or a secondary passport.. get it today. You may not want to escape today but the day may come when you need it badly enough!
