I get in truck, now it shows my gas is completely empty, like 0km to empty, which doesn't make sense as it was 1/4 last I used it a few days ago and I had put in an extra 20 litres. What a morning. Not going to church today after all this. I could have just slept in! Checked my security cameras and it doesn't look like anyone siphoned any gas, and there's no visible leak although it's been raining hard so guess it would mask it as everything just looks wet anyway. But I don't smell anything. Really baffling.

I'm going to see a truck out of town today, my dad will bring me and if all is good I'm buying it.

^^^ I started writing down mileage/odometer and gas quantity/price back in the 70s when we could still claim gas taxes on Federal Tax forms.

I never really stopped. It's come in handy few times for situations like that and low mileage insurance policies.

Might just be a lame gauge. I've had vehicles give very erratic results to the point I've used the odometer to judge when to fuel.

I'm thinking that's what it is, I added 8 litres from a jerry can and immediately the gauge goes to 1/2 and says I have like 300km to go. But seeing it show 0 km was a little nerve wracking lol. Didn't want to chance driving it.

Long story short I bought a new to me truck though today, so once all the paperwork is done I'll sell mine for a few grand, it's mostly a parts truck at this point due to all the rust.

Dishwasher has started leaking some oil when we run it, not sure if we should bother fixing it or just replace it. It was in our house when we bought it 6 years ago so probably 10+ years old and never seemed that great when it was working, never really dried the dishes very well even if we used a rinsing agent.

Agonized over which camera lens to buy. I went with the Sigma 70-200 over the Tamron. I have other Tamron lenses and think they're great, but reviews seem to show the Sigma is a bit better

Mowing and my eye caught a very small Fawn laying in the tall grass soon enough to steer around it. Moved off to another section of the yard to mow along a fence line and spooked up a second one.

Now I have at least two sections of yard I can't mow for a few weeks.

I would actually like goats, except they eat fucking everything. There isn't much I care about in my yard, but I do care about my trees, and I don't want them chewed on by goats. The boss' daughter has little goats, and they're pretty cute. Lots of personality, but they're like cats. Willful, and always getting into trouble.

Going through the process of buying a vehicle is always a pain, so that's my FWP for past few days. Go to Service Ontario to put put it in my name, didn't have the right paperwork so had to go back to owner's house and they found the right papers so went back to Service Ontario again and got that part done. Got temporary plates and ownership now. Now have to bring it to a body shop since the mechanic can't safety it with the body wear, then have to bring it back to mechanic. Just so much running around everywhere.

Who the heck thought it was a good idea to use thermal paste as glue???
Fortunately this is in a two-computer case and this computer is upside down, so it didn't fall onto other bits and damage them. While trying to find the source of the noise, I touched the heatsink and it was just loose. Maybe the thermal stress warped it and/or the card, so it worked loose? Definitely something to look into when I'm rested and coherent. lol

Ouch that sounds like it could suck to deal with, hopefully there's a way to fix that live.

I should probably start thinking about an upgrade path for my NAS. It's still working fine but it's like 10+ years old now.

Spilled wine in my keyboard, and it started acting weird, so I swapped it with one I had spilled coffee in over the winter, and now it's working fine. Model Ms never really die. I have three I swap between. All have stopped working at one point or another, and all have fixed themselves just by sitting there. Magic keyboards.

Nothing like letting something sit on the healing bench lol.

My NUC PC that I was using at work died a while back. I had it sitting on my workbench at home for a month, I decided to try powering it on again and it magically powered on. Not for long... but it's still progress over simply not powering on at all.
