anyone else tried a KO GPU? have been eyeing a 5600XT, but keep remembering about the KO, which would be my only reason for going green, let alone green 192-bit

is there something weird about the GTX285 mounts or something that i can't just use an Acellero Xtreme Plus II or Twin Turbo II with it? couldn't find anything googling for a bit as to why. DID find an Acellero Xtreme GTX280, but i don't want something that big and expensive and ONLY for that...

maybe it's the new owners. i'm just used to the wilder west of IRC and reddit yeah, while i no longer spend "as little as possible" on PSUs as i did in my youth, i still try to be somewhat thrifty on parts, and USUALLY a cheap Seasonic works for me. however, i AM eyeing a Seasonic Gold PRIME...

ah, i guess that's the kicker. there's no good translation of an exchange, but from what i saw, there's no plans for the DXR in AMD drivers until all cards can support it. yeah. raytracing definitely can be done in DX (the executable in the video linked was released in 2008), just not on AMD...

dang, where did you see that? i looked AFTER i purchased it on the steam page but didn't see any requirements Futuremark is doing vendor agnostic raytracing. RTX just has acceleration for specific aspects of raytracing. older dx12 hardware should just do it the hard way

JUST got a Fury to hold me over til Nvidia cards came down in price or til i found an AMD card i was comfortable with. go to run Port Royal and a) guess i need to install the scary Win 10 1809. b) it says i don't have enough VRAM. anyone out there with 4GB able to run it at the default...

what modern lines/models of PSU, say EVGA or Seasonic (or others) are similar or no worse than the old Seasonic-built PCP&C Silencer 750? including similar protection circuitry or slightly better without a big jump in price... (i assume the S12II/M12II are slightly lower in quality/features?)

is undervolting dangerous?

this is part "help win an internet argument" but part curiosity as i undervolt, myself. i ASSume not. the context was a Vega GPU. as for me, i ran a Ryzen APU -0.1v at 100% (no overclocking) since April mainly to save on heat til i got my ubercooler, but saving power was a good side effect...
