Being strictly kosher isn't important to most people. As long as they aren't made from the same bits as normal hot dogs is what matters. Once you know what they throw into the typical hot dog, you quickly lose your appetite for them.
I also agree with those who think the name sounds too much like a group of people. If Jews eat kosher, does that mean it's kosher to eat them?
