I also agree with those who think the name sounds too much like a group of people. If Jews eat kosher, does that mean it's kosher to eat them?

Is this guy saying what I think he's saying?

Plus they show which parts of the cow are kosher and which are not.

I think they're trying to say:

"The other guys' hot dogs are made with cow rectums, but ours aren't !!!"

Here's a quote from their webpage:

A Hebrew National frank is made with 100% pure beef. The result? 100% premium quality and taste for you and your family--no artificial flavors, colors, fillers, or by-products. It just may be the most delicious hot dog on Earth. No ifs, ands, or butts about it.
(emphasis mine)

I'd definitely rather have one of their products over the other guys'.

I bought some last week and didn't think they were any better than Ball Park Franks.

I'd much rather have some Kowalski dogs.

Not as good as Vienna Beef, but those are tough to find outside of the Chicago area.

Thanks OP.
I love their dogs and the kosher salami is awesome cooked up in a pan and made into a sandwich.
It's making me hungry just talking about it.

Is there anyone here that prefer Nathan's, like I do?

Thanks for the coupon: my in-law will like that (since they eat HN)

Thanks, OP. Coupon good until 10/31/06. You can print out multiples. Just in time for Labor Day. My favorite dog is Sabrett's, then Nathan's, then HN.

It strikes me as a bit odd that the hotdogs are made by Conagra, or at least the "Where to Buy" takes you to one of their pages. I always thought Hebrew National was an independent brand...guess I was wrong.

They used to be, but were bought by ConAgra a few years ago.

If anything, they have gotten better and easier to find.

Hmm, I don't know if it's worth saving a dollar to install the plug-in.
Coupons.com has a privacy policy but they only briefly mention the "coupon printing software or toolbar (ActiveX based or Internet Plug-in)" and does not say what it specifically does or does not do. OTOH, their privacy policy as a whole seems fair.

I suppose it wouldn't be too hard/dangerous (if it ever was) to simply install the Firefox plugin and print to coupon to PDF (I use CutePDF writer) and then remove the plugin.

Well, CutePDF writer is a no go. "your current default printer is not supported..." I guess they got that covered already.

Oh well, I went this far so I printed them on my real printer. You don't ever see the coupon on screen, so there isn't anything to link to anyone nor the option to save it by using Print Screen.. and I don't have a scanner.

See my edit in my post just above yours.. the only way to do that is with a scanner... and even then each coupon has the submitters name on it, with the terms:
"Limit one coupon per purchase. Any other use constitutes fraud. Void if sold, copied, transferred, altered, prohibited, or restricted."

So.... yeah you gotta do it yourself.

Oh, and if you do this in Firefox, to remove the plugin just simply go to C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\plugins and delete the dll for it. I already deleted mine and didn't take note of the file name, but if you arrange icons by modified, it will be the last one. Also if you place your cursor over it, it will say which plugin it is.

I dunno...it doesn't seem quite Kosher.

Supafly,

You might want to try renaming your pdf printer to something like "HP 1234" and see if the coupon will print.

Already thought of that.. didn't work. I got my coupons and uninstalled the plugin and unsubscribed from their mailing list.

This is a bit disingenuous. No major American, Orthodox kosher organizations trust, recommend, or use the triangle-k. And while R' Ralbag is a respected scholar, it is telling that when asked to name a single major kosher organization that trusted his certification, he came up with the Rabbanut, in Israel - which, frankly, is not saying very much. I'm not sure whether it's unacceptable leniencies or bad administration that keep people away from triangle-k, but either way, I'm not aware of a single respectable, American, Orthodox kosher organization that takes triangle-k.

That said, for those of you who don't care about whether they're really kosher or not, enjoy.

Either way, the coupon is a good deal for HN hot dogs. Anyone who "keeps kosher" will either buy or not buy based on their kosher preferences, regardless of the coupon.

They paid him to say that. lol

Hate those coupon printer crapware, but love the HN tubesteak almost as much as Nathan's.

add'l nfo: I don't know how but their active-x print driver has my zipcode on each coupon printed. fwiw: it installs at least 4 files including: Do a search for cpbrkpie* (if using Internet Explorer - cpbrkpie = coupon printer brickp internet explorer) and the prints code for the printer and time, so don't go nuts on this no matter how much you love these doggies
