Bare wire though. Pick up some 3 to 4 pin adapters for 75cents if you want it to be clean. tear off the 3 pin molex. connect red to red, blaack to black.
Or if you have a fanbus this fan would be perfect.

Also, they try to sell you a 12 to 7 volt connector. When you first hook it up Connect red to yellow and black to black and save yourself some coin. NOTE: this will make the fan spin slower but also quiter.

Man, I wish someone would put some 40MM fans on clearance (my heatsink has 3 and one has just quit)
Anyone know any deals on some 40MM 12 volt fans?

Technogeek: What heatsink is this? I have recently been looking for something to put on my list of components I will buy when I finish saving up. I've looked at probably over 500 reviews(including all of the THG and DansData ones cover-to-cover) and I never saw one that had 4 40mm fans. Could I get a link?

Fan/case question:

You know how they say to make sure you have the same cfm of air going into a case as is going out....

Well I was wondering, since I have a lot of 80mm fans...but I have a couple of cases with 90mm/80mm mounts on the back that currently are using 80mm fans. There is a 80mm fan sucking air in in the front, if I replace the 80 mm blowing out the back with a 90mm, should I remove the front 80mm sucking in or leave it? Also I got one of those new evercases with the fan blowing air in on the cpu. I'm not sure what the cfm rating of the ps fan is though and I'm sure that should be taken into account too. What I had in mind was just having a big fan like the 90mm and the PS fan blowing air out, this should suck hot air out of the case and suck cool air in through the bottom front , so I shouldn't need a fan in the front blowing in , right? Many pc manufactures, like DELL, Micron, and Gateway, use this technique I think. So is the fan in the bottom front really necessary? Any thoughts? thanks....

You may be able to use these or maybe not, worst case is your out .99 + S&H.

If they don't fit in your case you can always mod them to be a blowhole and they come with a finger guard.

In reply to BigEdMuustaffa: There are so many schools of thought on fans, # of fans, speed, CFM, postive pressure (in the case), negative pressure, ect. that you need to discover your own methodolgy. The only thing that is true and constant is that filters help keep the case clean, as dust and hair is not conductive to electronics running their best. Good Luck...

Stacked fans aer a waste. The lower fan acts as a brake on the top fan, and pushes little air though. It will speed up the lower fan over specs, and burn it out faster.

I speak from experence. Trust me
