Looks like it's time for me to dump the poor Cel466, in case it found the right key. Bombs away!

After this post I will shut down my box to implant a MSI Pro 2 A with Tbird 1Ghz. Upgrading drones is real fun. We'll see how this baby oc's.

Looks like I need to go out and get some more FC-PGA 533 Celerons
for these additional i810 motherboards that showed up yesterday.
Hope this batch overclocks as well as the ones I built up for Christmas
presents (and my pickup truck with the wireless Warplink network...yeah,
my truck is doing RC5...hows that for cool boys!)!

Damn, and I was sharing my root directory on C: my drive, along with
everything else, to the whole internet, from my pickup, when I'm near the
house. Man, now that sucks, since folks had access to my GPS logs that
show all the crazy routes I take to work, and where I like to drive on the
unimproved dirt roads in the National Forest on the weekends.

And I thought I was Mr. Slick, doing RC5 on the way to work...until
I got viruses in my truck...the pitfalls of technology!

Crazy things us engineers do can get us in trouble once and awhile...
Did I mention the Orbcomm that I'm working on integrating?
Lets you do email on the road, vehicle tracking, and if you
want to pay for the premium service, even slow internet...man,
some of the cool stuff you can do with things from FleaBay....to
include the 12" TFT LCD...

And in case you wonder what a geek like me does for a living,
see my employer's site at: http://www.upsat.com/mx20des.html

(Although the photo of the screen on the web page doesn't do
my last project justice...) Click on the Details below some
of the pictures. Some of the features, like satellite weather
aren't shown on the page, as they are still being tested in the
field. Some more details from the FAA can be found at:
http://www.alaska.faa.gov/capstone/
And other links to associated innovations/details at:
http://www.upsat.com/newsindx.html
(like precision instrument approaches using WAAS GPS, and
recent certification of ADSB on large airliners)

And you ain't seen nothing yet, my friend.

BTW, since I want to get these i810 motherboards online today
for RC5, anyone know of the cheapest storefront in Oregon to
get some FC-PGA Celeron 533s?

Working for UPS, with thier killer benefits package and retirement
package to boot! (Yeah, those guys you keep busy in the Hot Deals
forum, which helps make them the fourth largest employer in the
United States)

And Anand thought he had a cool job!!!

I lost a few K6-2's and PII 400 from my old employers, but I just assimilated 4 comps from where I work now. Here's my herd for those who are curious.

<< Working for UPS >>

HeHe. I got a call from a telemarketer (I HATE them) at Airborne the other day. She asked me who was responsible for shipping in my company. I responded, "My UPS driver, of course", then hung up.

The main thing is to stay the course, our asslamanations are picking up, we've gotten some great new team members in the past few weeks with real nice herds and the team stats are steadily climbing, 1.8M yesterday.

We just need to continue the growth in personal herds & new recruiting and we'll end up No. 1 where we belong!

Trying to talk a friend into letting me replace his K6-3 450 mobo with my old Celeron 450a. He's had nothing but troubles with it, and my 450 is sitting on a shelf right now. Of course, there would be a small fee. Can you guess the price???

EDIT - We really need s spell checker on this Forum!!!

Jarhead,

I LOVE your enthusiasm; it is exactly the kind of attitude that it going to keep us on top in the competition.

But, mechBgon is right. It is an idea that we've discussed at length and Dnet flatly says no to the approach.

On the bright side, our daily output seems to be back to the level it was at before OGR started!

Maybe I'll dump that within the next week. It's not enough to do much.. but it'll do something..

Well, cotton pickin' figgin' jumping purple Jehosophats!

If folks have joined your team, what is wrong with keeping
in touch, keeping an eyeball on each others output, and such?

Geesh, where in the world does a person find rules like that?

Got a link?

Who at dnet made a rule like that, the Democrats?

I'm an old Jarhead, and I may be thick/dense, you guys aren't
pulling my leg now, are you?

Crap, and I thought I was being clever. Makes about as much sense
as drawing an imaginary line on the ground in a war and not allowing
your side to cross it to pursue the enemy, but they are allowed to
come over it.

Who at dnet made a rule like that, the Democrats?

How about if we use our listing of people at our team page on our site and email the inactive folks, and not use Dnet's list? Is that legal?

Cool, Chris, let me know as soon as you get that pup up and running. The worst I've ever done with the 600 is 850 and the majority have done 900. A few at 950, but I've never been able to push one to a gig stable.

In any event, they are a screaming steal for the upside potential you get.

Thought that it's time for the viz to get back into a little RC5, so I moved over 3600 mhz of Celery/P2 from OGR for a while. The K6s will stay on OGR where they are better suited though.

Welcome to the TeAm Jarhead, and thanx for posting what was happening to you with those open shares to the 'net. I did the same thing on my NT box the other day when reworking my network for installing the 10/100 switch that my wife and family got for a Christmas present. I switched the NICs in the NT/Proxy box so the existing 10 base card went to the cable modem, and forgot to change the bindings. I had most all of that drive shared to the 'net.
