5k race today, about 7 total. Was leading the race but there were very few course marshals and me and the other guy who was running right behind me took a wrong turn and added on about 200m extra. Still managed to finish 1-2 (I was 2nd; he's a local legend and was just sitting on me waiting to outkick me; he's done it before) but because of the added distance our times were awful. Total comes to 1584 now.

Ran 12 today. First 9 at 7:15 pace and was feeling good so notched her up to 6:15s for the last three.

12 for me as well today, all of it at 7:00-7:15 pace though... I'm not in that kind of shape to do 6:15s yet 1608

SWScorch - Are you training for anything in particular? You mentioned that you raced a 5k this weekend, but you're doing heavy milage for just training for 5ks Was that just a tune-up race for something bigger in the future?

Also, add 4 for me today.

Woohoo, my son and I did our first 13 miler today!! 105 minutes it took, but we were just psyched to be able to do a half marathon. The really good part is that this run prepared us psychologically for our big race in exactly one month.

Ran a 5k today using VFFs/POSE. My technique felt great today, but my calves definitely got exhausted after a couple of miles and slowed me down a lot towards the end.

I am just in base training right now; I am running the Marine Corps marathon in October. But I'm only doing 50 miles per week right now, which is low even for 5k training for me. Last year I was doing 85 mpw for 5K training. the 5k I did yesterday was just a fitness indicator to see where I am right now.

Gotchya. I don't think I could run much over 70 miles a week without my legs crapping out on me. Could be since I walk about 3 miles a day in addition to my running though.

13.1 yesterday. (Big D Half Marathon)

Finally finished in under 2 hours (1:54:51 to be exact). Still not blazing fast by any means, but have gradually improved upon my half times with each one.

Awesome man. My son and I did an informal half marathon yesterday, I came in at 1:45:35, my son just 2 minutes behind me. And it was a hilly mother f**cking run too, we're pretty much set now. We may even be ready for a full marathon later this year.

Congrats! If this was your first sub 2 hour finish... and you ran a 1:54:51... that's one hell of a PR!

Tack on 6 for me today... in the hail

Yea, first sub 2. I've shaved off about 8-9 minutes off each half I've run...being in marathon shape definitely helps. I'm looking to clock 8-8:15 minute miles next time around, but that won't be until late summer/early fall till I get to run my next half. (Where I'm not pacing someone anyway) But thanks!

Nice! I didn't know you were that fast. I probably could have pushed it below 1:50, but I'll have to give it a shot later on sometime. I do have to say, a half is the perfect distance...challenging enough but not a total killer like a full.

Neither did we... it was a pleasant surprise. We thought it was a ball buster of a distance, but that was probably the hills more than anything else.
