6.2 miles tonight. Was a strange run for me. I set out to run some easy miles as my ITB has been acting up and ended up running my best 10K since I started back running. Now I just need to get into an official 10K to make it stick (two weeks from now).

Did my haunted halloween themed trail 5K this morning. I finished 8th in my age group(24-29) and 37th overall out of 1070 runners. 23 minutes 11 seconds. Dropped my PR by 1:15.

Got beat by 64 year old guy and a married couple pushing a stroller(and this was a trail race on dirt roads!) Oh well had a blast and did well.

Congrats! I did 5.1 miles down at the lake today, 8:39 mm pace for me overall 7 days out from my last race (32.5 miles). Pretty stoked about that.

Ran on Grosse Ile and discovered a 3 mile loop of single track trail that I didn't know existed! Awesome. Did 8 miles at 9:36 mm pace.

Ran in the BAA Half-Marathon this morning. 13.23 miles in 1:46 Ran the last mile at a 6:25 pace. With minimal training, I'm not tired now, should have run faster.

I wiped out on my mountain bike yesterday--wet leaves. The left leg is all jacked up, covered with abrasions and a 5 inch hematoma at the hip. Looks like I'm going to be out of commission for a while. I got a 10 miler coming up in 2 weeks for which I already registered. Finishers get a cool beer glass. I was going to try to go under 1:10, but I may load up my fuel belt with a mixture of Gatorade and vodka and trot. I just want that glass.

I ran the entire length of the Potawatomi trail today. The hills. Oh the hills. Something like 1500 feet of elevation change. At least like my picture shows, the views were beautiful. Also from the perspective of ultra running practice I had no major problems at all. Stayed well hydrated and fueled. Pardon me while I soak in an ice bath.
