Haven't been running a lot lately due to getting hit by a car while biking home from work several weeks ago. But just got notification from the BAA that my application for a special invitational entry for those personally and profoundly impacted by the events on April 15th for the 2014 Boston Marathon was accepted. Time to start training!

I got creamed by a car when riding my bike about 20 years ago. I haven't had the desire to ride around in anything with less than four wheels since then. I believe the damage it did to my knees is part of the reason I can not run more than 8-10 miles to this day without significant discomfort. Hope you recover quickly!

Well, was ready to throw in 13.1 after the Memphis half marathon tomorrow but just got notification it has been canceled due to the ice storm. Understand of course but frustrating since it's the last run of the year for me and I've been training hard for it. Oh well!

I did 5.6 miles REALLY fast for me this morning. I opted for a hilly (for FL) route, it wore me out.

Won a local 5K this morning, my first overall victory. My time was 19:51, but my GPS said the course was short - only 2.9. Still, I'll take the win. It was through fields and wood trails - almost no pavement. Plus, the ground was soggy, muddy, and slippery as heck, and I was in road shoes barely staying upright! I feel like I earned that one, even if the total field was only about 50 runners. Small local fields FTW! There are PLENTY of runners around here who could crush a 19:51 without breaking a sweat, so I just got lucky none of them showed up!

Congrats Mursilis! A win is a win my friend. I wish I could remember the exact quote, but it was something about it doesn't matter who could have beat your time, it only matters that no one that showed up was capable of beating your time on that day. Way to go champ.

Did a one man 10K race against the clock this morning to see if I could break 50 minute barrier this morning and despite the windchill of 7F I managed to crank out a 49:58 woooo. First time under 50 minutes

6.4 miles today. The first 4.2 with my son who is VERY unconditioned, we ran really slow and easy and gathered/ate tangerines. It was a good time. The last 2.1 miles I did solo at a sprint (for me). 8:05mm pace on some of the more technical trails in the park, and THAT felt awesome.
