I had run 5 miles on N.Y. day and figured that I'd keep up with my usual 13-17 MPW. Unfortunately, life doesn't always work out like that. I went back to work on Jan 2nd after taking 2 weeks off (vacation). With the snowstorm that hit NY, my boss texted me on NYE and asked me to come in 4 hours early on Thursday. Well, the storm came later than expected, so I got held until 8PM Thursday. Knowing that there was more snow coming overnight, I ended up staying at work (sleeping in a chair) and starting again at 4AM on Friday. With everything happening with the storm, of course I didn't get out of there until 8PM Friday (40 hours in a row at work, 32 of those working). Needless to say, I was beat on Sat. But, I did 5 miles in slushy / icey conditions. And this morning I felt that I was getting sick (a little sore throat). So, I took today and will take tomorrow off. I hope to get back to usual on Tuesday (which is supposed to be 13 degrees again).
Bottom line: 10 miles since the last time I updated.
