In case anyone is interested, I wrote up a quick little report of the trail half-marathon that I did last weekend. It was called the Twisted Ankle (
http://www.rungeorgiatrails.com/maps.html), and basically consisted of running up a mountain and back down again (after a few miles on the top of the mountain). I wasn't really planning to race it, but going up the steepest section (which was ridiculously steep and long; I nearly had to scramble up on all fours), I actually passed the only guy ahead of me and was leading the dang thing for the rest of the race. Unfortunately, unbeknownst to me, I was supposed to turn around at this one aid station. The volunteers at the aid station did not tell me to turn around, and so I kept going. And going. And going. Eventually I found my way to another aid station, which also served as the 18-mile point for the full marathon. They told me I was supposed to turn around 3 miles ago and sent me back on my way. I ended up running a total of about 16 miles, and went from 1st place to 15th place. Still, I had a lot of fun and am definitely going back again to redeem myself!!!
Oh, and I did 12 miles today -
