My son is getting better faster than I am (I am 22 years older than him after all), but overall I'm a better runner still. I'm working on his stamina by doing hill runs at the moment, speed will be next. He may match me on the big day though, he's really pushing himself hard.

You know that hill repetitions count as speed work, right? If you do one hill workout per week, you only need 1-2 other tempo or speed sessions.

For those of you running marathons in May, what are you signed up for? I'm doing the Flying Pig in Cincinnati.

I'm running the Vancouver Marathon on May 3.

I was thinking of running the Vancouver Marathon. I used to do a lot of travel up there for work and a good friend now lives there. I love Vancouver.

Instead, I'm going to run the Providence Marathon on May 3.

I didn't know that. But finding a flat area to run at around here is like finding a hill to run on in Florida. It's just a hilly region, perhaps I can find a stretch of road that is less hilly than our normal one.

Just completed a 5 mile easy recovery run. I left my son in the dust, apparently he doesn't recover as quickly as I do.

"easy" 6 that ended up 90 seconds faster than usual... happens every so often where I think I'm plodding along and end up running quite a bit quicker. 1407
