Add another five from me. 2 on Sunday before a 12 hour shift and then today 3 miles.
Now lots of you are running much farther than me, and I will be doing a Tough Mudder in the summer and that is my training goal at the moment. Basically couch to near half marathon(though I could probably and reasonably argue a 12 mile run with 25 obstacles requires as much, if not more, exertion than a straight 13.1 mile run.)
Anyways, feeling quite proud of myself at the moment. I've been training with Merrell Trail Gloves and absolutely loving the move to forefoot strike. Used to have shin splints like crazy and after almost a month of training no shin pain whatsoever. Moreover, I'm progressing faster than I thought I would.
Like I said, did 3 miles today, after each mile I did 15 burpees and 15 jumping lunges, and after the final mile did 30 body weights squats + 5 pull ups. But the more impressive part for me was I tried to focus on finishing/negative splitting today. And boy did I succeed. I was always a better back half swimmer when I swam competitively and apparently the same applies to running.
My splits: 1st mile 9:48.88 2nd mile 9:43.64 3rd mile 9:37.72.
