<< Firstly, the first link I gave backed my claims explicitly.
How about backing up yours? >>
You are right, there is something in there about it. However, The first link give no credit to the author, it is not a credible source. How can you give credit to an unknown source. A domain name, which is all it provides, in no way identifies a source as credible, no matter what that domain is. In any event, it merley states the same opinion you do, it provides no facts.
Back my statement up? How hard can this be? The higher the refresh rate, the more power(just like when you overclock a cpu, or install a higher clocked cpu of the same stepping). The more power, the more heat. You do know what heat is, don't you? Have you ever heard of electro and thermal migration? Both the Video card and the Monitor have integrated circuits processing the higher power and heat creating signals. This is not new info, this is not relatively unknown. It is widely known. Higher refrash rates increase power consumption, and consequently heat, regardless of whether or not it is "within manufactuers specifications," both of which cause electro and thermal migration. Now, lets bring in the fact that the electron gun(or guns if you have a trinitron) inside that monitor is laying down scan lines how many times per second? Yeah, more at higher refresh rates. It too consumes power and generates heat, along with electro magnetic radiation, not to mention the fact that it has a finite life, very much related to how many times it lays down scan lines. If one could define ahead of time the exact number of times a given electron gun will perform this function, simple math would tell you 60 times per second is gonna be a lot more seconds than 100 times per second, and more of a difference as you go higher., This may be science, but it is NOT ROCKET SCIENCE. There is no way around it no matter what you believe, no matter what any unverifiable source tells you - HIGHER REFRESH RATES WILL LOWER THE LIFE OF YOUR MONITOR! OK, to Qualify that, HIGHER REFRESH RATES WILL LOWER THE LIFE OF YOUR MONITOR, WHEN COMPARED TO THE SAME MONITOR OPERATED AT LOWER REFRESH RATES!
DUH!!!!!!!!!!
OH, yeah...DUHHHH!!!
Can you spell D E N S E?
