free shipping means that they will take at least 10 days to ship out your order. They advertise @ pricewatch for 80.00 but I cannot remove the cd cable and ide cable which adds at least another 3-4 bucks to the cost. it is generic, w/about 512k cache that's why they don't wanna mention it. This harddrive hardly worth 83 imho, maybe 50-60?
I'm not to sure about buying this hd myself, so maybe some input would be nice.

5400rpm= I've fallen and I can't get up. For a storage drive possibly, but when you can buy 7200rpm drives now for less than this, why would you bother.

5400rpm = less heat. If you're putting this in a tivo or are using it where a 5400 is all well and good then it's a better choice.

i heard of some people opening up 7200's and adjusting it to spin at 5400 with good reduction in heat and noise. several people said it was near inaudible with the case closed and temps were several degrees cooler. dont ask me how... i dont know... i found it during a google search so try going there.

after looking around, it has 2mb buffer not 512k, my bad. I'd rather 80gb 7200 rpm 8mb buffer for 49.95 but it's hard to get, I went to grab it at 4pm and it was all gone at best buy. what i hate about bb is that when they have a great deal, it doesn't last, just meant to get everyone their to buy something else like a bait and switch scam. all I see is maxtor 80gb for 99.99 which they have alot in stock.
tsunami, I opened up a working hd that was out of warranty and it went dead like a few days later. those microscopic dusts must be very harmful to it.

WARNING!!! I bought 2 of these for my tivo's (I wanted 5400=less heat) and both died within a month. I don't know if was my luck or Magnetic Data Tech or the fact that they were White Label, but beware.

It should be 80.00 shipped, emailed memorylabs.com to correct their website. said they did, but I see no change! told me to go ahead with the order and tell them to adjust price but i did not cuz looks very shady to me. oh well, their loss. Their rating on resellerratings.com looks very bad.
