I am eye balling the 19 inch also.......It is in front of me. NICE!!! No dead pixels. Ok color. Certainly worth the price.

What DVI Cable Should I get with this display? Male to Male DVI-D? I would like to get the cable at the same time assuming $15 shipped is a good price. Horrible of them to leave out the DVI cable, at least a cheap one.

Thanks

Just turned mine on for the first time. Dasm, the brightness was so bright at default (50 out of 100) that I had to turn it down to 12 to suit my eyes. OK monitor for the money, but there's quite a bit of backlight bleeding around the top and bottom of screen visible in dark screens.

Plays Q4 with no problem whatever.

Well I just got and plugged in my new tyris monitor, great right out of the box and that's without the dvi. Since I only have one dvi connector on my card that's how it will have to be unless I decide to swap connections with my other LCD. No dead pixels that I can see, there is some back light bleeding against a black background but it doesn't seem noticeable otherwise.

This monitor so far is good enough to make me less upset about missing the 19inch one, but I still could wish.... Oh never mind.

When I scroll with the mouse wheel, or scroll bar, the text backround turn pinkish during the move. Don't know if that's by design or the monitor is defective, but that pretty much sucks.

Your monitor may be defective, I'm using this monitor as we speak and no pink text problem. Mine is working great so far, knock on wood as they say. I hope that's something you can get worked out, good luck!

HermitGuy - The 17" isnt only cheaper, but might be better depending on what your using it for. Since both the 19" and 17" are SXGA (1200x res), the 17" will have smaller Pixelpitch, giving it a sharper clearer image.

.... games will look clearer on the 17"... but text would apear slightly larger and easyer ot see probably on the 19".
---------------------------------

emjem - for some reason i doubt very much that its the monitor making the text change color when you scroll... try it on a different comp. and i dont know what Vidcard your using, but check your Collor Correction settings in advanced display options... also if your using 16bit Desktop color depth, that will show color imperfections on LCD's, switch to 32bit Color depth in Display settings, if that applys to you.

Thanks for the suggestions.

It does the same on two different gaming PCs with color set at 32 bit. It's this Tyris monitor for sure because my older LED monitor doesn't do it on the same two PCs.

It's not the text that gets pinkish, it's the white background that the text is on. I changed the background color to light gray and the problem went away, or at least it's not visilble.

I appreciate the info jolancer, I've pretty much settled in to excepting the 17inch monitor and so far I am quite happy with it and still think I got a great deal, but the 19inch would have been nice since I do much more reading than playing games.

Very tempting, if only I didn't have a nice 19" CRT I would totally grab this (or maybe the 19" model)

Just a heads up, Newegg has a 8 dead pixel policy... hopefully you will get 0, but in case you don't, you have to have at least 8 pixels that are dead to return it.

It don't matter to them where the dead pixels are either.

I had bad experience with dead pixels of NEC monitors. So this deal is a good, but risky. I'd prefer to buy something a bit more expensive but without dead pixels.
