Your title is mis leading. Shes closer to 16 then she is to 15. It seems as if there is 3 years age difference, when in fact there is 2.5yrs or seems less if they didn't bother to read the entire thread. So 2 years if you put 18/ 16.

I had a mate who was 17 who had a 14yr gf. That was a bit weird man........

He's still going out with her now. Hes 19, turning 20 th is year and shes 16 turning 17 this year I think, not sure. He did do her before she was legal age of consent (16yrs in England) I think thats bad.........but I'm not him. I've would definately wait until she was legal age of consent to do ANYTHING with her though...........

Go out with her as you know her best but when you get further in to your college life and she goes to an other college then its going to be TOUGH. FVCK the other people that look down upon you. Its your life and as long as your not doing anything wrong then its okay......

gf is 4.5yr older then me.........

My wife was 17 and I was 23 when we started dating. I say go for it. Just don't get her pregnant.

Nobody will question the age at that point and you will not have to deal with any sketchy laws (MTV had a special on these laws one time and how they can play against you -- although the kids involved were doing a lot more than just dating).
Well by your theory I should date 12 year olds. I mean when they are 40 I will be 65, so it will not be bad then.
When 2 years is greater then 10% of your WHOLE LIFE, then it matters.

Nice logic, Dr No Logic. I won't even bother disputing your inability to read what I typed. If you like chasing 12 year old girls, thats your thing man.

I say go for it....It's not like you are destined to have sex anyway and I don't recall any law saying you cannot hang out with people under 16....only 6 weeks away anyway.

In the words of a cockney wideboy "get in there my son...."

You forget one little thing which is very important. People change greatly between the ages of 13 up to 25ish. They are usually not even the same person. So as far as long term goes, it's highly unlikely it'll happen.
BTW if you tried to go out with my 15 year old daughter (when I have one at least) you'd be staring at the business end of a shotgun.

Gosh...after reading this thread I feel bad now. At the end of my senior year, I turned 19 (yeah I was an old HS senior). I was dating a 15 year old Freshman then. No one really made a big deal about it. Maybe because I look ridiculously as young as she was. Good thing her dad didn't know we were dating. Just to let you know I never had sex with her. It was limited to kissing and petting. And I did like hanging out with her and just talking.

nick1985, just gotta know if your sister is ok with it. It is her friend, right? For me, I would never date my sister's friends.

Changing greatly between 13-25 is called MATURING. And it happens earlier for some and later for others. At the age of 16, some people are very mature and won't change much. I havn't changed much since I was 18 (I was a "late bloomer") and probably will be the same person I am at 25. I mentioned MATURITY in my first post which is why I told you that you cannot read. Jeesh.

And I don't see why you are threatening me with your shotgun. This isn't my thread. I am 22. I wouldn't even touch your daughter with a 40 foot plunger let alone date her. I find it hard to believe someone would shoot another person if they tried to date their daughter, but hey, if you want to go to jail for retarded reasons, thats your business.

However old you are, I can guarantee that you'll be a completely different person when you reach(ed) 20, 23, 25 etc. Young people tend to think they're mature for their age. Only when you grow older, you realize that it probably wasn't true. Ask anyone whose older, they'll pretty much tell you the same. There are exceptions of course but I doubt you are one of them.

Meh. Age difference doesn't really matter just so long as you're both happy. Still I think it's pretty nasty that my 22 year old friend is dating a 36 year old woman who is NASTY!

Um, I'm telling you that I am the same damn person that I was in high school (You said I would look back and realize it wasn't true, but I havn't). All my friends agree. I barely look older than 17. I act the same. My personality is the same. Jeesh. Some people become completely different people at the age of 45, that doesn't mean they weren't mature and responsible before then. It isn't just young people who tend to think they're mature for their age. Most people think they are mature and most people still do stupid things (adults included). Anyone can do something they regret.

I am not an exception, you just havn't put much thought into this.

The problem here is....it doesn't matter how close she is to 16, SHE IS STILL 15 YEARS OLD!!!! You could go to jail for this.

Wow, I think you're the first one to actually comment about this (I noticed it too, but never said anything)

Now something to add to the thread, I wouldn't get involved in anything sexual, but it's hard to say where any sort of relationship could go. You may just lose interest in each other after some time, or could become closer to each other.

whats up with this "double standard" thing? if the girl were the one that was older... we would be calling the guy a stud. i dont see anything wrong with going out with someone thats 2-3 years younger than you as long as you can see the person as worth it. the law says that it is illegal for an 18 y/o to sexx0r a 15 y/o and if you can respect this law and still have a great time with the person, i think their relationship should be looked at as something special. being an 18 year old myself, ive had sex with a few girls my age and ive noticed that this can be what screws up a relationship. i'd rather have a girlfriend who i love and respect and feels the same way about me than have a relationship just for sex. now, if i could find a combination of the two, that would be ideal ... but, the compainionship is more enjoyable than the sex... thats all i'm saying... so nick1985, go for it and as long as you respect the "no sex" law, you'll be fine.

just my 3 cents...

btw, im no "psychic" but my name is also Nick and i was also born in 1985... hah
