1800+ Volcano 6cu or retail?

Hey all, I'm not planning on overclocking at all, and will have decent case airflow. You think it's a better idea to stick with the retail hsf or spend another $8

or so and get a thermaltake 6cu (regular no plus)? I'm not very concerned about noise because I'll have plenty of case fans going, but 7000 rpm seems a

little excessive for the 6cu+ for my purposes. One concern I have is installation, this is going to be my first one, so any helpful hints to help me not crush

my core would be appreciated too. thanks.

If you arent planing on overclocking, then stick with the retail HS/F. Its cheaper and is made specifically for your CPU non-overclocked.

I have a Volcano 6cu, it came with the processor. It doesn't run at 7000 rpm like they say, only about 5400 to 5600 but the cooling between the stock and the processor are about the same. So save the money and the hellish noise. Go with stock. I thought noise wasn't going to be a problem, but it sounds like the cd-rom reving up as soon as soon as you turn on the comp.
