I have been scouring newegg and zipzoomfly and several other sites looking for a good monitor that is at least 19", has a low response rate, and is just an overall high quality monitor for between $300 to $500ish. I haven't had a lot of luck. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

You'll find lots of threads (and CRT vs LCD arguments) on here about that...I'm actually in the same boat this week. I'm trying to decide between the Samsung 930B and the Hyuandai L90D+ myself.

Also, I don't think you'll find a suitable gaming panel bigger than 19". The 19s are just coming into their own now.

2005FPW - I have one and love it. I dont notice any ghosting and the widescreen is pretty cool for games that support it (most newer games)
1905FP - Even thought anandtech gave it a great review, a lot of people on these forums say it ghosts like crazy

I've heard of lots of people having ghosting issues with the 1905FP.

I've heard of absolutely no such complaints with the 2005FPW. I have the 2005FPW and I LOVE it and I'm a pretty big gamer. Like Tipsy saidm widescreen is great for games that support it, most that don't you can go into and change them to support it manually, but be aware that if this isn't possible for a certain game you'd have to play it either stretched or with black bars on the side.

I can't imagine many games coming out now though that wouldn't support WS resolutions.

Hyundai L90D+ - this has been out for awhile and has proven to be a great 19" LCD monitor for gamers. As far as I know, it's been the only one with 8ms response time in that size until recently. Samsung and Acer now have 8ms 19" LCDs available. I can testify that the Hyundai L90D+ is great - friend of mine has one and it does great with the latest games. You'll start paying a lot more when you look for over 19" in that response time.

The 930B is the best bang for your buck 8ms 19" LCD. I have one I can testify that there is no blurring AT ALL. The only small problem is it has minor backlight leakage along the top, it's pretty even along to the top so it's not that bad. I upgraded from a 16ms 19" LCD. The blurring on the 16ms LCD was not bad, but it was noticeable. Like in Halo, anything that was reddish blurred really bad.

ViewSonic VP201s.....amazingly beautiful monitor. I believe it's the same panel as the Dell 2001FP. No ghosting that I can see in UT2004 or similar fast-paced games.

I'm also in the running for a new 19". Choices between the Hyundai L90D+ and Samsung 915N. Concerns are the narrow field of view on the L90D, and the lack of a DVI on the 915N.

Farscape,

You may want to look into the new Samsung 930B. It is very similar to the 915N but with DVI capability. However, most that have purchased it say there was not a DVI cable included (mine did not have one) and have to purchase one separately.

Those of you that have the Hyudai L90D, how long have you had it, and have you had any problems with it? My Viewsonic A90f+ is starting to go out, and i bought the A91f+ yesterday to replace it. I'd like to have a dual monitor setup, 1 LCD and 1 CRT, but i'm not sure if its even worth it. I run my system at home at 1600x1200 resolution though, and the only 19" LCD's i've seen that can do that, cost close to $1000. The Hyundai monitor looks like it a good buy, but lets face it, its made by Hyundai. I wouldn't buy one of their cars, not sure if i should look at their monitors lol.

I have an NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT video card - I looked on the Dell site and didn't see that video card listed as one of the ones able to support the widescreen 2005FPW. Anyone know if this is accurate? Would I need a better video card to get everything out of that monitor?

VX924 supposed to ship any day, supposedly.

Yeah, but at what cost?!?

Looks like low $400's...certainly cheaper than a 1" larger 2005FP and much better specs.

The 2005FPW was $350 a week or two ago.

Also the 6600GT is definatly supported, officially or not alot of people run that setup on this forum.
