I went the extreme budget route and bought a proview 19" for $149 Seems to work great. Good color, no moire pattern, good geometry adjustments, running at 1280x1024x32@75htz 24/7, I turn the brightness ALL the way down, and it still is just tad bit too bright for playing games in the dark, so I have to urn down the gamma a bit. It's a Samsung tube BTW. I had to send it back once after about 2 months, but they paid for it. I think the problem was a bad surge suppressor anyway. I all of a sudden got a bunch of bad sectors on my HDD, and since replacing my supressor, no more bad sectors, and my monitor has been fine so far. I expected to have to replace it, but so far, I think it's a good monitor. I think the cheapest you can get them for is like 249 now, so that doesn't really make it worth it. I really can't see a difference between this and my Dell 17" at work. they both look good. I suppose I could live with a 24" flatscreen though.
