I am looking for the best priced 19in monitor that can do 1600x1200 @ 75hz or better. From what I am seeing now, the stuff in the $190-210 range will only do 1280x1024 @75hz. The only thing I saw was a KDS 19in and this will do 1600x1200, but it is really cheap. Is there anything wrong with this?

Thanks,
Jason

Few months ago I bought NEC FE990 19" and its a great monitor! Im very satisfied with it.

The best part is that I only payed $203 brand new.

I found it at Dell for $235....in black...they wanted 15 more for the white 1....dont ask why but I had a 10% rebate and they had free shipping and no tax which is very important when you buy a monitor.

Total - $203

Its a flat screen and has great res and refresh rate.

Great monitor!!!

Iwork with alot of monitors both LCDs and CRTs. Personally I would never buy a LCD....CRT are just so much better. AS far as brand goes I would recommend NEC or Sony. Since I cant afford a Sony I go with NEC. I hear good things about Viewsonic but I personaly have no experiance with it.

I'd get one capable of 1280*1024 at 85Hz, my Proview 19" sits happily at 1280*960 (4:3) at 85Hz. 75Hz will hurt your eyes after a while.

I'll vouch for Viewsonic. I use one of their short-depth 19" screens at home (an older model, but still kicking), and it's one of the best monitors I've used. I'm probably going to replace it soon with a new full-size Viewsonic (the short-depth models don't have a perfectly flat screen, plus the contrast is starting to fade on mine after almost 5 years). My office buys NECs because they're noticeably cheaper, but they still seem quite good -- haven't noticed any problems with mine, though I obviously don't use it as much for gaming, etc.

The G90f is exactly the kind of monitor I was looking for.

As for the LCD/CRT dispute, I run both at home, but this one is for work and I have to find the best performance I can for the price to see if I can get it put through purchasing to replace my 17in 1024x768 fish bowl.

Thanks guys.
