Ok here goes, full specs I have a modified 18" case that has 2 3" fans on the side blowing air in, 1 3" in take blowing air in, and a 3" blow hole at the top. 256mb of pc-133 cas2 from crucial (got it at a fantastic deal $112) Abit KT7A as mentioned in my previous post, Aopen Geforce 2 MX card (waiting for GTS prices to fall), 2 X 4.3G Baracudas (scsi), The rest isn't worth mentioning heh. OH yeah and as for cooling the cpu itself..... drum roll please..... hehe a simple FOP 32!! can you believe it? I have a few questions for you guys though as this is my first AMD based system. Is a 300 PSU enough? I'm thinking not with all these fans going (a total of 7) which I might add are pretty quiet. I can upgrade to a 350watt for like 45 bucks more or a 450 watt for 115 (canadian dollars) Ambient case temp is about 22c, CPU temp is about 45 at full load which I would like to bring down a bit. Is 45 a bit high? I think it is heh. I might put a FOP 38 on it but I'm afraid of the noise it will create. Anyways, thanks for listening guys. Any more questions let me know

dingdong what are your system specs, specifically your hsf combo. I'd like to get my cpu temp down to that level :/

Marooned,

Your temps are fine. There's something severely wrong with DingDongDingDong's temps, as his CPU temp is being "read" lower than his MB temp. Typical socket-thermistor under-read, though.

mike thanks for the reassurance Do you think that it's worthwhile to get the fop 38 or should I stick with this 32.. As far as psu's go would a 350 watt suffice? I appreciate your input

Thanks Mike, my PSU is a U.S CAN DEER or something... it is AMD approved or so the guys I bought it from told me.. Oh I just thought of another question for you too if you don't mind hehe. The fans on the side of my case are blowing air in but my cpu fan is blowing out towards the 2 fans.. should I reverse that one or should I just leave things the way they are. Thanks again you've been more than helpful

Mikewarrior2 before i think exactly like you did. but after i replace another mobo (KT7A-RAID) the temp still the same not even 1c changing. by the way i use taisol 742092+delta 30cfm +artic silver+copper shim. and i also use two 60mm 21cfm mount very close to the hsf too may be that way it help my cpu cool.

Are you blowing air under the socket? Your temps are impossible. There is way you're running under mb temp, even with the kt133a mb chip.

hi mike all my two small fan are blower very close to to the hsf about one 1" ,but not underthe mobo. last night i open my case real feel hot air come out from the case, but when i tought the hsf it is imazing is it it very cool. cool than air inside my case. i think some wrong with my cpu. fist time i got this cpu. my max is 9.5x133fsb, no matter i try i won't allow go high than that. but two day latter i try put it up 10.5x133fsb it boot up ran very well. and i try more 11x233fsb it boot untill the win 2000 logo and crack. but seen than i try again it won't do any more for 11x133fsb.
i think something relate with my ps. before i have ernamx 450w but now i use the orginal antec 300w. my spec two ibm 45gig 7200rm and two 81gig 5400rpm one sound blaster platinum 5.1 two ethernet card 10/100mb one I/O controler card and two dvd drive one cdrw and one cd room, also power with my total 5 small fan. so do you think 300w antec brand can handle this???
by the way i set my volted max 1.85 but most software monitor allway read 1.91volt
