I guess ghost marks partitions active when they are ghosted, hence when I tried to create another partition with win98 on it in addition to another active partition (already on the hard drive), I wound up with the unbelievable scenario of 2 active partitions. Partition magic (4.0) at least was confused and wouldn't allow me to hide one or another, and since they were both active, I couldn't "set active" to one of them
I wound up just deleting the ghosted partition I tried to install.
Looking at gdisk (which comes with ghost) could I have just hidden it with that?
Would fdisk also puke in this situation (I didn't try)..
The drive itself said "Invalid Partition Table" and died, in case you were wondering, till I wiped out the extra active partition...
