2 IPs on linksys router?

I have 2 IP addresses for my internet connection, but all my computers are behind a router. I want to get one computer on one of the IP addresses and have the others using NAT on the other address. I'd like to add a routing entry that just redirects incoming from the WAN on the second IP to the right computer, but I have no idea how to do that. It doesn't look like static routing does what I want, and I just reset the router after playing with dynamic routing

It's the BEFSR11 if that makes a difference.

only thing u can really do is to place a hub/switch first. hook the cable modem into the uplink port, then hook the router into a port on the switch/hub. the computer u want on the 2nd ip address directly into the switchas well , not the router, simple as that.

Could I get it to forward both IPs to another computer that owuld do the routing?

I had the same problem, but now its fixed.

1) Plug cable directly from modem into UPLINK port on router.
2) Plug another cable from the router, switch, or hub into the WAN port on the router.
3) Set IP of the computer you want to use the secondary IP to it.


Everything should work. There might be an easier way to do it, but that is the way i did it and it works just great!

Do you just want to use the other ip so you can forward stuff to the computer with that ip? Or do you just want to forward things to a certain computer? For the later just use port forwarding and forward the ports you will use to the ip address of the computer you want.




I think that's what you want unless I'm missunderstanding you.
