20"-24" gaming monitor

Hello
I know nothing about monitors
i will get 20"-24" monitor. i am intrested to play at high resoloution
i would like something affordable and may buy used from Craigslist.
please can you tell me thing specs to look for and which models are good

If you're looking for a monitor, I wouldn't buy from Craigslist (bad history w/ it), I'd recommend newegg. I got a 20" LCD monitor w/ speakers for around 100$ on sale. Just have to do a little research on the site by looking for deals and reading reviews mostly.

And since you're not that familiar, I'll suggest you reconsider the size. When you aren't that familiar, 20-24 sounds big and more sounds extravagent. But I'd say go 27".

why 27" isnt that expensive?

LCDs basically come down to three categories:
- Cheap (60 Hz TN panel)
- Great Colors (60 Hz PVA or MVA or IPS panel)
- Fast (120 Hz - TN panel)

60 Hz TN you can easily find <$200 for 24"
e-IPS 24" start around $350ish
120 Hz 24" are around $300ish

Once you narrow down the panel type you can mostly look a checkbox features (size, inputs, etc...) to narrow down to a few panels, then check some reviews for the most favorable.

I like the colors and have a Dell 2412M nice display and "fast" enough for normal gaming. I know people who swear by 120Hz panels, and I can see it making a difference too. Pick what you will like best and go from there.

I've always been partial to Dell monitors and I'd def choose an IPS version, god those tn panels are horrible
