"No thread crapping. If the subject matter of a deal does not interest you, do not post negative comments about it, or about other members, in the thread. "

If you don't like Tiger Direct, please post a specific reason/experience as to why we should avoid them.

This is after a $70 rebate. Most ATers know TD has a horrible rep when it comes to MIR's. However, I've seen a few posts here and there that say they are cleaning up their act, but after the numerous stories I've seen, I'd avoid them still. Good deal if the rebate goes through however.

OP, it would be helpful if you would mention the $70 MIR in your thread title, thanks.

And your personal animosity towards tigerdirect has what to do with this thread? Since you are new you should go read the rules and learn that thread crapping is not well accepted here. Lets just try to keep it on topic, shall we?

Sorry, but one of my backbones is down right now and i cant reach the site (and most others). is it a 21in/20in viewable or what you said both? shipping deets?

what Fanginc should of said was, "I hate tiger direct BECAUSE....."

I've heard many complaints about their rebate fullfilment, but I used them 4 times and no problems with those.

Do not buy any of the refurb monitors at Tiger Direct that start with the part number J156. Ive been buying lots of refurb monitors for work and we used to get great refurb monitors until Tiger switched vendors. Every monitor we have received from this new vendor with the J156 part number has been crap. Blury picture, big gashes out of the case, part of the anti glare coating gone....stay away.

I'm just wondering, how exactly is this a hot deal? $70 rebate and $70 for shipping, so $150AR for a suspect quality 20" CRT?

Many of us have had horrible experiences with Tiger Direct. Common courtesy in this forum is to put Tigerdirect -or TD- in the title of any supposed hot deals involving them, so they can be easily ignored by those who would rather not deal with vendors of that caliber.

THose prices are not HOT.

This is what I call HOT. I picked up several CRT monitors last week, all used but in good working condition:
1. Viewsonic P220f - 22" flat screen $15
2. Viewsonic PF790 - 19" flatscreen $10
3. Dell P1130 - 21" flatscreen $10
4. Dell P1110 - 21" flatscreen $15

I replaced all my old monitors with these big ones. I use the P220f for viewing HDTV with my HTPC. I gave the P1130 to my friend.

If you are in North Cal Area and you are interested in > 19" CRT, pm me. I can get you a big CRT for a good price.

And rebates must be postmarked within 30 days of purchase. Shipping time cuts into your rebate window.

You'd wish the OP would mention rebate in thread topic and emphasize USED not just Off Lease in middle of Topic Summary.

WELL DUH. How else is the monitor going to get to your house? Walk? Or did you honestly think Tiger Direct would say "Hey, we'll ship this 80lb box to you for free!"

If you don't want to get put into place on a COLD deal then stop and think before you post.

For all the doubters in here, we got this same monitor a month ago for doing graphics work here at the office, and it's awesome. Looks almost brand new. Already received email confirmation for one of the rebates. Everyone who sees the thing wishes it was theirs.

BTW, this monitor has better specs than the one linked to at AccurateIT--not to mention a longer warranty.

Finally, if you live in Florida, be sure to order from GlobalComputer to avoid sales tax.

It's not a scorching hot deal, but the one we got is darn near perfect. $150 AR for a flat glass 21" Trinitron monitor that will do 1600x1200 @ 85Hz is pretty good. Yes it's a refurb, but it has a 1 year warranty, and you can purchase an extended warranty (we purchased a 1 year extension).

You were lucky to get a good one. I purchased 6 of them and every one of them had some missing antiglare coating. These monitors loook like they are grade B or lower refurbs. One of them was not a true flat trinitron like they advertised. When I called the distributor to get the rma, they acted like I was disturbing them.

Hmm, the G520 is THE top CRT.

And it's down to $99. Check it again.
