Yeah, that's a pretty hot car. I like it a lot. However, the 'gauge cluster' looks pretty lame.

So what are the exact engine specs on it?

Yeah I don't like it either... but if you knew where it was inspired from you'd probably appreciate why they did it like that.

No official specs have been released but speculation is around 250hp and 165lb-ft I think.
And the wheels are 17's up from 16's

They should quit dicking around and just put an i6 in there. Nobody wants to be the Japanese Porsche.

That would definitely be sweet. I doubt they ever will though

I'm pretty sure Honda doesn't make any I6 engines as of now.

I meant the speedometer... I don't have a scan of a CART car cockpit and i can't find the magazine that had a spread of it... but here's a screenshot from Indy Car Racing 2... which sorta looks like it... and here is the S2000... i believe the S2000 itself was inspired from the S600 and S800

Agreed. I don't want to have to rev my engine up to 3000rpm before I have enough torque to move the damm thing.

That small-displacement I-4 contributes to its awesome handling dynamics. This thing is a monster on a track. Wouldn't want one as a DD though.

Hrmm...my friend has a 2003 Suzuka Blue S2000, and there's just something about shifting at 9000RPM that just makes you happy...

The new 2.2L puts out the same hp number as the old 2.0L, but has a bit more torque...

You should also notice that the new 2.2L has a lower redline than the old 2.0L...

"Honda's sporty two-seater gets a fairly major overhaul in '04 to make it friendlier for everyday driving. A 2.2-liter four-cylinder engine replaces the former 2.0-liter version. Although it produces the same 240 horses, its torque band is improved so that maximum power is achieved at 7700 rpm instead of 8300. Max torque is now 163 lb-ft at 6500 rpm instead of 153 lb-ft at 7500 rpm -- still a screamer compared to most cars. The car gets bigger 17-inch wheels, revised suspension and gearing, and new front and rear fascias and bumpers. The interior also has been freshened with added space."

Yeah, the S2000 is pretty boring because it doesn't have an I6. I hate having to drive it

And 0-60 in 5.1 seconds is way too slow...even though it was designed to be driven on twisty, oceanfront roads as opposed to long straightaways in the desert...

What other roadsters can you buy that will cost less money and give you more car?

The S2000 has an MSRP less than the 350z roadster, has far more pep (yes, I've driven both), and is much more structurally sound. The only thing you can't do with an S2000 is brag to your friends that you've got a "huge 3.5 liter, 6 cylinder motor" or "287 horses in the stable."

If it were me and all I cared about was showing off, I'd just get a base model Boxster with matching Porsche keychain, wristwatch, and pen/pencil set, and call it a day
