If it still uses the outdated pushrod, forget it!!!!!! Besides, it probably will get recalled like the Ford Gt. I'd rather get an Aston Martin or a Ferrari 430. At least they look cooler.

If I am spewing, then give me examples of the muscle cars holding up under some real performance. All my stuff aside still doesn't give any credence to vettes, cameros, etc.
PLEASE give me performance stats that are tested and can actually prove superiority of the Am muscle cars.
You guys haven't given me any reason to believe otherwise.

Even if M13's argument had some merit, and I'm not saying that it does, the point gets lost in his sheer stupidity and bias.
How do you figure? The old GTO was just a tarted up Le Mans with a hood scoop and dual exhaust. For its time, the design wasn't any more daring than the new GTO.Originally posted by: SWScorch
I saw one on the freeway a few days ago. As it drove behind me for half a mile, I glanced in my rearview mirror and thought "Oh look, a GrandAm behind me." Then it passed me, and I said, "Goodbye, GrandA- wait, that says GTO? THAT'S the new GTO? Good grief."
It's a sweet car, especially the 05, but they really should have done something to make it stand out from every other Pontiac out there. To be sure, auto enthusiasts can spot it a mile away from the subtle styling cues, but the average person won't, and it simply doesn't look like a GTO! My gf's father has a '69 GTO, and that car is damn sweet. There is no doubt in anyone's mind when they see it, that it is a powerful car. Not so with the new one.

This the outmoded pushrod that US cars use. Europe hasn't used this in years. No wonder the US can't design a decent performance car.
Ck out what Europe and Japan use instead.

i wonder what GM is going to do after the LS2, they are not going to be able to bore it out much more (motor trend listed it as having only .5 or .05 mm left to bore out) they are going to have to staright changing other things on the engine to make it more powerful. god, a SC/Turbo would be godly stock from the factory on an LS2 engine.

EXACTLY. The old GTO is nothing special. All it has going for it is the nostalgia factor. The same crap that people are whining over the new GTO for happened with the new Malibu, too. The old Malibu was just a crappy grocery getter - just like the new one is (except better in every way). This new GTO is better than the old in every possible way (subjective points aside).
