Hey hey. My Dad is looking into getting a 2005 Mustang GT, probably new, with a v6 (v8 is like 8-9 grand more). Anything wrong with that choice? Any other sporty type cars in that price range he should consider? Just curious. Seems to me that everyone likes the 2005 mustang GTs, they look bitchin for one thing. We rented one for a half a week and we liked it a lot. So i think the Mustang will probably be the winner in this situation, but i'd be glad to look at any other options. Not that it's my choice, but since i'll be driving this car too, i wanna make sure we get the right thing. So maybe i can have some influence on the matter.

This is one of those "i'm up late and bored out of my mind" threads, by the way.

Well, I don't know what's available on the American markets, but yeah, the car looks nice.

If he doesn't want to spend the bucks for a GT mustang I doubt he will for a 350z either.

If its a V6 then it is not a GT. However..... even with a V6, I still love the look of the car. In fact, I have dubbed this car my midlife crisis car...I will have one...and it will be in the next couple of years. I just have to figure out how to pay for it and college for my son.

I have had one for over a year, and it's great...gets lots of attention....sometimes too much...like from 'da coppers.

I like em, but I have two issues with them. They look heavy but are small on the inside, and they're everywhere.

It isn't a very good engineered car so I don't want one, but the only mustang i'd get is the GT with stripes.
At first it looked stupid to me, but when I saw the ones with the stripes I had to give it a thumbs up.
Same with the new STi as I knew it will take me a little bit to get used to the new "aircraft" type front design.
And about GT + V6 I dunno if that is possible as I always though GTs had a V8. Have to agree with above poster(s) on that.

I have a 2006 GT, and I love it. It's a lot of fun to turn off traction control and let the rear end loose a little bit. The only complaints I have are: black is insanely hard to keep clean, and gas mileage for the V8 is pretty bad.. atleast the way I drive, I get about 19 mpg mixed city/highway.

Saw a Boss Mustang at the World Of Wheels Car Show on Saturday and fell in love.

The Mustang GT is a very handsome car and a performance bargain IMO, but the V-6 is not my cup of tea. It lacks refinement AND power, and that's not a great combination. I'd look at getting a 1- or 2-YO Infiniti G35 coupe instead, among other things.

I think they look very nice, but I wouldn't get a V8 because I don't care about going fast. If I bought one it would be because I liked the car, not the name. There's nothing special about driving a Mustang, most of the older ones are driven by teenagers. My little brother has a Mustang (riced out, too!)

I like the GT... (V8) it's nice power and everything... just wish they would have done a little more for the look of them... think they need bigger tires or something... I dont know... just something about them.

However, when they are lowered a bit with some nice race springs and they get some nice 18" wheels on there, maybe a better exhaust system... I'd hit it... !!!!!
