Kid is complaining about the transmission but I expect the engine timing is the root cause.

Engine starts but is very noisy. Planning on picking up a cam shaft sensor and praying 🙏. A buddy that worked for Ford suspects a loose / jumped timing chain.

This seems to be an interference engine so the timing chain has me worried.

P0345 - Check your alternator. If it's going south it can cause all sorts of problems elsewhere
For example
P0003 - Fueling issues...perhaps caused by the fuckery being thrown about by a screwed up alternator
P2004-P2020 - Codes seem to indicate your Charge Motion Control Valve motor is not working and the plates are stuck. The motor might have crapped out because....alternator is crapping out.

So is it ok to run an engine 4 quarts low? I didn't even think to check oil figuring the kid would be on top of the basics.

LOL. You expect too much. 4 quarts low is fine if it holds 10 quarts
