way to show sportsmanship LeBron, bolts for the locker room. Doesn't even bother to stay and at least shake hands, pat on the back whatever.

No worse than Dwight Howard shooting a 3-pter at the end of the game.
Dwight did it just to be silly, no insult intended. LBJ was a douche running off like that.

I know that Howard was just goofing, but to criticize LBJ for leaving hardly qualifies him as a "douche". Most athletes split after losing. To criticize someone for it is just weak.

Not really, the most basic part of sportsmanship is shaking hands after the game.

Staying or leaving depends on the sport and the player.

Baseball players bolt from the field quickly, or sit in the dugout and watch the other team celebrate. You almost never see them shake hands.

In the NFL though they all stay out and shake hands.

Not sure about the NBA, but I don't blame James. He had a TON of pressure placed on him by everyone and I am sure he is a little upset right now.

Baseball has some stupid moronic rule about prohibiting players from fraternizing with each other.

Hockey IMO does it the best. everyone shakes hands when its all said and done. even if the last 60 minutes some guys were punching the hell out of each other.

And often not adhered to. Especially in a close-out game, when the winning team has no interest in shaking your hand - they want to celebrate.

Thats fair enough, the winning team should take the inititiave in shaking hands. Didn't see this game live so wouldn't know what happened.

Why the LeBron hate? If I had the best record in the NBA, the favorite to win the East, then lost in the Conference Finals, I would be pissed too. He carried his team. Look at how much he had to score every game to even keep them close to the Magic.

Oh, OK. Well the Magic mobbed the court, as you'd expect, then all the TV people and NBA folks were there for interviews and stuff. LBJ could have made his way through to congratulate the Magic players, and that would have been to his credit. But it certainly wasn't like after regular-season NBA games, where the players often shake hands or exchange greetings.

iirc, there are NBA rules that players must make themselves accessible to the media after a game, win or lose, despite the bad sportsmanship he displayed by not shaking hands after the game. Lebron should get fined for his actions. Whether the NBA fines him is another story. Any lesser player would be fined though.

Either way, I've always had much respect for LBJ. I think he's better than Kobe and probably one of the greatest ever; the total package. He lost some respect tonight though.

It's a shame the players Lebron has to play with. Cleveland may well have had the worst record in the league without LBJ this year. The same can't be said about the best player on ANY other playoff team, and yet he still makes it to the conference finals.

I hope Cleveland doesn't waste his career. Give the kid another all-star and he wins a chip, two all-stars and we'll probably see a 3peat. When I say all-star, I mean someone who would be one even if not playing with James, not Mo Williams.

What's the last one-man show that even made it to the conference finals? Has ANY team made it to the CF that's as bad as Cleveland 2-12? Maybe the 76ers with AI, though Motumbo is better than any Cleveland big-man. There were two fucking air balls on open shots tonight. That is just embarrassing.

Yeah, there are rules about postgame press conferences and the like. I don't know who else beside the head coach is required to be available. Last night, we saw Chauncey Billups made himself available.

I'm not a Cavs fan, but I just can't find it in myself to resent LBJ's after-game reaction. Perhaps if someone stuck a mic in front of his face right after the game, he would say something he - and his teammates - might regret.

If his team had half the talent the Lakers have, he would have already won a championship. Kobe has to win a championship now or very soon as he's just getting older and he needs to win one without Shaq. If he doesn't then Shaq is going to ask how his ass tastes again.

if kobe doesnt win this series, it will solidfy the notion that it was Shaq's lakers that won, not "shaq & kobe's."

That would be one reason to root for the Lakers. Shaq is an a$$hole.

One reason to root for the Magic would be because Shaq is an a$$hole.
