Hrmmm. For some reason I got it in my head that the NHL "re-seeds" after the first round. What sport am I thinking of that does that? Or am I just way too tired and completely off base?

they do reseed after the first round.

and by reseed i mean the teams don't stay in their bracket position necessarily, they will be shifted around based on their seed and the rest of the seeds that are left.

Helluva game but the finish sucked. The player who's won the hardest shot in the league contest five years running has the puck on his stick with ten seconds left in the game, a lane to shoot and he passes?! He fuckin' passes! Fuck you, Charadactyl.

Toronto deserves a lot of credit; they are a good, young team and mentally tough. I believe the Bruins have the better roster. The Bruins were clearly the better team through four games, and they went back to home ice with Toronto on life support and let the Leafs get up off the mat. Typical Bruins.

Winner takes all tonight and I'm net very confident Boston gets the job done. The Bruins under Claude Julien are 6-12 in games that would clinch a series.

I throw out regular season and use the eye test when considering playoff matchups.

SJ is looking scary good tight now, and Niemi can win a series by himself. LA is... well, LA. They got hot and won the cup last year after probably losing every regular season head to head against playoff teams last year. They just shut down a very good ST. Louis team four straight games. As a Hawks fan I'd MUCH rather have those two teams slug it out in a death match and have the Hawks play a finesse team like DET, whom they can actually out hit. Detroit did win, but face it : the games the Ducks did actually turn it on the Wings looked overmatched. The Ducks are just a strange, strange team that seemed to wilt in game 7. The Hawks won't do that.

I don't understand anybody who would rather have a different playoff outcome so far than what has happened. The Ducks, Blues, and Nucks are OUT, baby.

That's fantastic for the Hawks chances to reach the final.

Not to take anything away from SJ, but the Nucks played poorly. Niemi is legit though.

Ducks played well but were horribly inconsistent. Hiller was meh for him, and Howard has stepped up.

I think the difference is the Wings are playing way better than they were in the regular season. They have finally figured out their lines, and the rookies are finding their groove. Hawks on the other hand are the same team they have been all year. Great, but predictable.
