The boarding call they did make on Chimera when Clowe was hurt was atrocious - he hit him squarely on the shoulder - not even a borderline call. Perreault gets hit way late by DelZotto and nothing. Chimera gets cross-checked WHILE CELEBRATING a Capitals goal, while the ref was staring at it, and nothing. Cross-checked down for stopping at the crease after a whistle, and nothing. Just complete BS non-calls throughout while calls were going the other way. But at what point did Ovechkin complain? Show me.

It was Holtby and Alzner and Oates complaining about the glaring one when Green was slew-footed (surprise, they were targeting him, as they should). It's right on NHL.com.

Certainly doesn't look like charging. Looks like the initial point of contact was the shoulder, but it was a glancing hit and he hit Stoll's head as he came across the front of his body. I see no malicious intent, just a hit that didn't land squarely.

Players WITHOUT Torres' history have received suspensions for the same hit.

The fact that he has to fly across country to meet with the NHL safety committee or whatever they are called, pretty much means they are going to throw the book at him.

Besides the injury, the only thing I'm seeing on the Torres/Stoll hit is the angle that he approached him almost guaranteed a head shot.

Stoll was bending forward to stop the puck with his hand. Head is lower and scumbag does nothing to either avoid the hit or change his angle of attack to prevent contact with the head.
All scumbag had to do was stay lower himself to make body contact and it would have been a nice clean check and would have knocked Stoll over. Instead his instincts to hurt someone took over.
Bet he gets 5 games for it.
