2012 Steam Summer Sale: DEAD!

Bought CK2 DLC today, probably gonna get Grimrock also. Hoping Skyrim gets a DD. Am interested in the Human Revolution flash sale, but my bocklog haunts my dreams already.

I'm looking for a great FPS with a great single-player story line. Last great FPS I played that fit that description was BF:BC2. I really enjoyed Crysis and Crysis Warhead as well.

Recommendations? Is Deus Ex: Human Revolution a possibility (currently on sale for 75% off)?

Steam never seems to want to put any of the old Call of Duties or Medal of Honors on sale....a good WWII FPS would be perfect for my fix. Maybe I'll get lucky this sale......

Deus Ex: Human Revolution would be a fantastic choice, yes. It's not strictly an FPS game... more like an FPS-RPG, and it goes into 3rd-person whenever you slip into cover.

Like Crysis, you can choose whether to run and gun, or stealth your way through the entire game. It has one of the best storylines in recent memory too. Definitely recommended.

Deus Ex: HR is a great game, but it has more stealth and RPGish elements than your typical FPS. I (and a lot of other people) really enjoyed it and I think it's a steal for $7.49 - I got about 27 hours out of it.

Singularity is another good one that was overlooked by a lot of people. It's discounted to $22.49 right now - wait until it goes on a daily/flash sale.

Bulletstorm is good dumb fun, but I wouldn't recommend it if you're easily offended or you have children around.

Spec Ops: The Line is supposed to have a great story, but I haven't played it yet. It was on sale on Amazon for $25. Hoping for something similar during this sale.

Max Payne 1, 2, and 3 are all great. The older ones won't look as nice, but they'll be cheap and it's a good story.

I did just to get the Badge achievement. I'm not interested in any of the games currently up for vote. I played Witcher 1 for about 20 minutes and uninstalled it.

Thanks for your earlier recommendation on Deus Ex....thinking about it seriously.

And yes, Hard Reset is a game I loved. Story isn't as strong as some of the other games I mentioned, but it was just a darn fun game definitely worth $3.75.

Reading this thread from work. Wish I was home to pick up some of these. Keep coming up with the hidden gems, guys. Two more hours til I'm home.

As a collector who barely even scratched the surface of my backlog, sometimes I wonder why I even bother. A lot of times I end up seeing even lower prices down the road. But I'm always drawn to these sale. D@MN STEAM!

I guess I should be comforted in the fact that although I did not get a game at the lowest price possible, it is low enough for me and provide support to the developers (I hope).

One thing I might add about Hard Reset......comes ingrained with a pretty decent benchmarking applicaiton so you can see what impact different video settings have on your frame rate.

Also, what's with Mafia II never going under $7.50? It's two years old now, that game should be $5 tops.

There are so many things I can apply this logic to.... like your mother

or gasoline, that stuff is like a million years old so it should be cheap right???
