Just saw "Helix" was renewed.

Up in the air about this one. Wonder where they are going to go from here. I liked the "Thing" setting but if they leave the Base what then?

Thanks for the minor spoiler

Anyway, I have saved up the entire season. Is it worth a watch?

Not a spoiler, just a conjecture about them leaving on my part. Just cant see them staying there past the last few weeks events.

I liked it, the cast is fairly good, story not so bad but the writing could be better (and the science). List it as a guilty pleasure and the best thing on at that hour and day.

No advance announcement, just the preview for the next episode (the finale) after yesterday's show being called the "Series Finale". That sucks, the cast was growing on me.

But apparently, it was only to supposed to ever be a one season mini-series. If it got renewed, rumour was that they'd do Once Upon a Time in Oz/Neverland/whatever.

Appreciate the info. I think I will give it a go.

Enlisted pulled from the schedule. Expect to see it filling time later on a friday/saturday to fill time with the produced episodes as its a defacto cancelled program.

Rake has been moved from the moved to friday spot to saturday to firmly tie the toe tag on this one too.

I watched an episode (maybe 2?) of Enlisted. I actually thought it was rather decent for a network comedy.

How is that steaming pile of poo 'The Arsenio Hall Show' still on the air?

It has a niche, but loyal, fan base and it is better then running re-runs of Everybody Loves Raymond. That is the only thing I can think of since it has terrible ratings.

Astronaut Wives debut has been cancelled, now to air sometime during the next TV season as the creative focus has been revised.

Will Wheaton has been uncancelled, getting a half season talk show on scifi.

so how'd you guys feel about the HIMYM finale?

it seems obvious to me that they wrote the ending probably 7 seasons ago (I think they filmed all the kids reactions around season 1-2?) and decided to stick with it no matter what.

I probably would have enjoyed it if not for the fact that the later seasons were all devoted to Barney/Robin getting together and Ted moving on from Robin... like 3 seasons of character growth, all of which got undone in the last 15 minutes of the finale.

I'm in the minority that actually liked it.

It was pretty obvious for a while that the mother was dying/dead, so that wasn't really a surprise. No parent subjects their children to that long of a story (especially that type of story) without good reason.

The Barney/Robin divorce actually did kind of surprise me...kind of, but only because this entire season was spent during the weekend of the wedding. However, if you think about it ... Robin got what she wanted (famous news anchor) and Barney found the one girl (his daughter) that makes him stop, well, being Barney -- something he seems like he was trying to do all along, but was just never able to.

Supreme Fudge? Loved it.

Ted & Robin getting together at the end ... eh. I wasn't surprised, but I wasn't not surprised. It was more that I expected it but was hoping they wouldn't but I don't really have a good reason as to why not. Once the whole locket scene happened, and then the Robin/Barney divorce happened, I knew that somehow after the mother died that Ted would end up with Robin. The part that annoyed me was the kids reaction ... they seemed to not care whatsoever about the mother part of the story (yes I know it had been 6 years) and seemed overly eager -- almost annoyingly so -- for Ted to go after Robin. That could have been the result of it being filmed so many years ago and the story just evolving over time ... or maybe they intended it that way all along.

I think they covered a bit too much time in it. Could have had at least one more episode to get through the wedding and some of the other stuff first before the hour finale. Otherwise I like it fine. Much better than many finales have been lately.

And with the way he covertly explains it to the kids, it does make sense series wise.

Here is why I didn't like it.
The entire point of the Robin/Ted relationship was that sometimes Love is not enough, sometimes it does not just work out.

The entire point of the the entire show is that sometimes it does.

Nothing that we were shown in the characters of Ted and Robin seem to have changed to make it work. Robin was still a jet setting news personality and Ted is still the intellectual that prefers quiet nights in the suburbs to adventures in South America.

What should have happened is that Barney and Robin stayed together but agreed to an 'open' marriage, it would suit both of their personalities. Both would get that home they are searching for with out having to give up their defining characteristics (Robin being fiercly independent, and needing no one, Barney being a womanizer willing to do anything for a conquest.)

Ted having finally met the love of his life and known that all encompassing love he spent the entire show searching for should have been satisfied. He should have finally found peace with himself and no longer searching for meaning in someone else. He would decide to remain a bachelor, and start accompanying Barney on his adventures again in a sort of mid life crisis.

My fiancee hated the ending. I saw it coming the minute Robin and Barney got a divorce. Was obvious they had this ending set years ago but the recent seasons just didn't support it.

the Barney/Robin ending should have shown them both doing body shots off hot girls in exotic locations while traveling the world together.

Once Upon a Time in Wonderland ended.

They managed to completely wrap up the entire story and give a final ending. Not a single loose end.

for fans of the show, the male lead (the knight of somethingorother?) is set to join the parent Once Upon a Time show next season, presumably playing the same character.

I just found out earlier while googling... It's Michael Socha.

Hope they bring at least one or two others over.
