I want wargame airland battle, but kinda hate that the first one is now only $2 more when I got it for I think around $25. (needless to say, yet to be played).

Deus Ex: Human Revolution is showing as 50% off but if you clicked on it it actually is 85% off ($6 for the 'Collection').

Haven't tried any of the FEAR games - worth getting all of them? Or any one in particular better than the rest?

Fear one is the best. Note the game has issues with Logitech mouse drivers. You'll have to keep restarting it.

Crusader Kings 2 any good? From what I'm gathering, it's more about socioeconomic development than just fighting people (i.e. Total War)...that'd be right up my alley...

Farming Simulator
or
Euro Truck Simulator?

Already own Roller Coaster Tycoon. Looked at both the above, but they are almost too weird to buy.

This summer sale is probably one of the best overall Steam sales I've seen in a while.

They're always good but this one... it's like... very good.

I just got Dishonored, Terraria and Max Payne 3, damn you Steam. At this rate my next PC tower upgrade will have to wait.

This falls deep into grand strategy. It has an extremely steep learning curve, but once you get hold of it... the game is a damn time sink.

FTL is cool but it's hard! Or I'm just terrible at these games.

EDIT: And I just discovered the rabbit hole that is the FTL forums...

From everything I've heard and read it is a very good game. It is suppose to one of Paradox's more accessible ones and doesn't totally overwhelm you like a lot of their own grand strategy games.

EDIT:

I just spent the last 1.5 hours playing Reus. Cool game!

You are the planet and control different giants that can do different things. You have a rock/mountain giant who can make mountains that create deserts and he can also create patches of minerals to give wealth to settlers that move into your areas. Forest giant creates forests, fruit, and animals and can increase fertility in areas. Swamp giant for swamps and can create animals and food and other things, and the Ocean giant for oceans, monsoons, and animals. Each giant has like 7 different abilities but only a few are unlocked at the start. You gain more by helping the humans that settle your various areas (forest, swamps, desert) by providing resources they need to complete their projects (granary, shrine, school, etc). When you help them finish one of these projects in the time limit they provide you with an ambassador that rides on your giant. You pick which giant the ambassador will ride on and depending on the giant the ambassador will unlock a new ability for it.

Sometimes the human settlements become to unruly and rage war on another one for whatever reason (resources, hookers, blow, etc) and you can use your giants to destroy their settlement and save the other one if you want.

Pretty neat game, there is a lot of depth to it because everything can be upgraded and building some stuff next to other stuff creates symbiosis which will increase whatever the two things do and can upgrade an item to do more. An example from the tutorial, use you the forest giant to grow fruit, the fruit is blueberries as its base, use the ocean giant to have animals created next to it, they are chickens, now the chickens feed better and you gain more food because of it. Then you can use of the giants fertility/grow abilities to upgrade the blueberries to tomatoes and that increases food production more and gives you some technology as well now.

A lot to it when you have 4 giants and various different things but it is cool. If you dig the whole god genre thing I recommend it.

Hmmmm...if you had to choose between Dishonored and Max Payne 3 (both about $10), which would you recommend?

Oh, and if you're buying Deus Ex: HR and the DLC, make sure you buy the "Tactical Enhancement + Explosive Mission Bundle" and save an additional 14 cents!

Having actually played neither (own both) and just seen reviews, both are good to get, but I'd lean Max if you prefer story, and Dishonered if you prefer more action gameplay.

Own both, but only played Dishonored. So my opinion will be bias.

Dishonored was my GOTY last year. I loved the game. If you play it stealthy/sneaky you will get a lot more enjoyment out of it over playing it more like a standard FPS with minor stealth/hiding. The levels are well designed with many paths to take, the abilities you have make for some really cool and interesting choices. You can choose to kill not a single person in the game if you want, or you can kill them all, your choice will determine 2 things, first which ending you get (you get the better ending for killing fewer people), and as you kill more people in the city in later levels there are more rats in the city due to all the corpses and they can be a pain to deal with at times.

Story wise, it wasn't really anything special, it worked and was interesting, the world is great though. The levels/missions were pretty good overall and seeing your decisions you made earlier (not assassinating someone) and what ended up happening to that person was a really great touch (lets just say killing them would had been more merciful ) Also if you don't rush and do play sneaky/stealthy you'll over hear lots of conversations and at times they will reveal the location of hidden items you wouldn't have found otherwise.

So if you dig and play games sneaky/stealthy you'll get a lot more out of it over just cruising through it.
